hibari kyoya + random
Of course, my dear! I’m always so happy to write for your favourites and I hope you’ll enjoy my little thoughts here 😊
Send in up to five characters and the word random and I’ll give you a random headcanon I have for the character.
I personally headcanon that one of Hibari’s favourite places in Namimori is Namimori Zoo. However, he hates the typical crowds and noise that you’ll find at the zoo from day to day. He has special permission from the owner/operator of the zoo to freely wander during the zoo’s off-hours and he’s become known by all the staff members (after a few unpleasant encounters where an unknowing staff member tried to evict Hibari, thinking he was trespassing, only to be met with Hibari biting them to death). It’s not uncommon to find Hibari in the zoo in the early mornings before they open or late at night after they’re closed, just wandering or lazing around, watching his favourite animals. Most of the staff steer clear of him, and all of them are apprehensive of them, but some staff members will go about their duties while he watches, and only one of them will allow Hibari to help with the care and feeding of the big cats.
Despite what some might think, Hibari does genuinely care about his hometown. It might be for his own whims and his own selfish or territorial reasons, but Hibari does love Namimori as a town. As an adult, when he has zero financial worries and lots of disposable income, Hibari funnels money into the town to keep Namimori thriving. While he, himself, hates apartments, he sees the growth of his ‘territory’ and helps add to it by building more apartments, shops, and such. But there’s also a part of Hibari that is a traditionalist and he also sinks just as much money into ensuring Namimori Junior stays exactly the same and into making sure that local businesses remain family owned and do not get bought out by greedy out of towners.
Hibari has only ever had one barber his whole life. It is one old man who is the only one Hibari trusts to cut his hair. This man never fully retires because, even when he closes his shop or passes it on, up until the day this man dies, he still makes time to go to where Hibari is to give him a haircut. When the man passes away, Kusakabe needs to learn to cut hair really quick and really well, because Kusakabe is the only other one that Hibari allows that close to him. He’s stubborn that way.
Hibari remains pretty anti-technology throughout his life. He hates smart phones. He doesn’t trust them and doesn’t like how easily tracked a person can be through them. He has five or six flip phones, most of them burner phones. He will use flip phones until they’re no longer made at all.
I personally headcanon that Hibari has stinky feet. Just that. Just that short little silly headcanon.
