MEET OUR PARTNER | FLORUNIQUE
At Rock N' Events, it’s not only important for client’s to live up to top-quality and personable experience, but it’s fundamental for my company to partner with top-notch quality service vendors. It’s the partners of Rock N’ Events that help create this magical celebration for our rock star clients.
Today, I want to focus this blog on highlighting the quality work and service of one specific partner that have brought many of our design visions to life. We present you to Winnie Van Heerden, Founder and Designer of FlorUnique. We’ve partnered with Winnie for various weddings and special events, and we’re so proud of it! Winnie’s ability to translate our vision and work to bring the floral masterpieces to life, is why we continue to sponsor her for our rock n’ events.
Rock N' Events have asked Winnie to partake in a Q & A for our blog today. Get to know the designer of FlorUnique as the fabulous floral designer we know her to be. INTRODUCE US TO FLORUNIQUE My name is Winnie Van Heerden. I was born in South Africa and didn’t move to the states until about 20 years ago, due to my husband’s business reasons. I started FlorUnique about 10 years ago and have given it my all ever since. While starting my business, I was also a member of the Entertainment Arts Team for Disney California. Actually, I just got my 10-year service award from them! As for Florunique, we try to be different and unique, hence our name (hahaha). I like to incorporate different elements like colored pots, succulents, and anything else trendy occurring at the time. I also make sure I make something personal for the bride and groom, such as a boutonniere or a bouquet. I also do not just focus on weddings. I believe in personalizing every event for every client. I am really into details and I think that’s why I like to work with Rock N Events. Jenny’s style truly focuses on the small details and I love that!
WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION INTO STARTING FLORUNIQUE? Once I started, I truly loved it! I liked to take an idea from scratch and actually develop it into a design that my clients really love. They will have a vague idea and I knew that I could create an idea out of it. I am the cliche of “making the vision come to life.”
WHAT MAKES FLORUNIQUE STAND OUT FROM OTHER FLORAL DESIGNERS? I like to personalize and spend time with my clients. Before I start, I try to get as much information as possible to be completely prepared for the consultation. I can easily spend 2+ hours with my client and make sure to get all the details necessary to recreate the perfect pieces. I also don’t give an estimate on the spot. I customize every detail and come up with ideas that accommodates them their order, so it is hard to give an estimate right away. For me, it is important to make the clients happy at all costs!
