The rift seems to have trouble opening; it sparks and it buzzes and after many minutes of trying to appear, it does. It opens and you catch the words of a conversation that has been going on for who knows how long.
“—kill him or toss him out,” you catch Romulus murmur. His attention away from you as his magic attempts to fix the throne room. He sighs and you can catch the boredom he has with his brother’s ramblings.
“Why would I kill a perfectly good asset? Brother, do come to your senses,” Reynyx drawls, busying himself with fixing the rubble of the throne room.
“Do you really need another toy? Is the new Sorcerer not enough?” Romulus asks, the throne room slowly mending itself
“Of course I need another toy! Brother, are you not supportive?”
“He’s a person, not a doll, Reynny.”
“Hmph,” Reynyx huffs. “You lack vision.”
“Do I?”
“Indeed.”
“Right, why don’t we just—“ Romulus turns and finally catches sight of the rift. He tilts his head, but smiles tightly. “Perhaps you all can be of some assistance.”
“Really, brother? You’re going to ask them?”
“Indeed,” Romulus says, his attention on you. “What do you all think, hm? Should he be let go or killed?”
