ELECTRIC HEART BEAT

A little altered missing part of what happened after Obi-Wan and his master faced Maul in Naboo. When master Qui-Gon dies the training bond between him and Obi-Wan snaps, leaving the young Jedi struggling and trying to be a responsible adult, while trying to care for a hurt and confused pre-teen who is missing his mother, home and friends and trying to adapt into a very different situation neither of them could have ever imagined. Obi-Wan tries his best, but he's afraid that it will not be enough. Not especially since the cut bond has unwelcome side effects nobody expected to happen.

    It seemed almost unreal at first.

    Their icon had pointed just on the outskirts of the island, close to the water’s edge and the empty unknown. A dangerous spot for those who were like to go too far and vanish. It was for that exact reason all the more did it stir a newborn anxiety in the pit of his stomach. He glanced at her ahead of him and steadied himself. While he was keenly aware of his Master’s own safety, this was....  

    “Rosa.” He tested the name again, like it held an ephemeral magic to it, a something he’d whispered on the wind returned. That which they’d had in his own consciousness had been rekindled, and Arjuna gripped tentatively onto the device they were supposed to place.

    "Do take care not to go too far.”

Anzac Day

“Today we remember the sacrifices made by the brave soldiers of the Australia New Zealand Army Corps who died in the line of duty.” Bill says.

Today is ANZAC Day, a day where the citizens of Australia and New Zealand remember and mourn those who died defending their countries.

“While today we focus on those who died in the world wars, let us not forget that this day is dedicated to all Anzac troops who have died in the line duty, regardless of what conflict they died in or why they died.” Bill says to the crowd.

“While I no longer fight with the Anzacs, I still remember where I came from, and I will never forget where I came from, because to forget your roots, is to forget why you get up in the morning and to forget why you’re still here.” Bill says.

“Let us pause for a moment of silence for those that have passed.” Bill says.

All falls silent for a minute as the folks in the crowd and the people on stage mourn the passing of countless soldiers.

“Thank you.” Bill says before returning to his seat and allowing another to take the stage.
