At his dorm at school, Nathaniel dumps his books and notebooks out of his backpack onto his bed and he shoves a few shirts, a pair of jeans, and a couple pairs of boxers as well as his laptop and chargers inside. When his roommate pauses his video game to ask where Nathaniel is headed, Nathaniel tells him he met a hot girl and he’ll be gone for a few days. His roommate smiles but doesn’t question. The kid is used to Nathaniel doing weird things to get what he wants, including going away for days at a time. And so, Nathaniel swings his backpack over his shoulder and leaves the dorm.
After taking a taxi, Nathaniel walks down the runway to where Phoebe's plane is waiting for him. That makes him pause for a second. An entire plane was waiting for him. How many people can say that? He waves at Phoebe when he sees her and hopes she hasn’t changed her mind about him. Although, he supposes if she did, she wouldn't be here.
“Hey,” he greets with a half-smile when he's close to her. “It’s nice to see you didn’t leave without me.”
