Hey! This is Myssi haha, I just saw you're getting asks on anon about GG. I wanted to apologize - this is a two year thing going on, where an anon has said I abuse GG. In any case; thank you for being honest about your thoughts of him, you've been very kind. Again, I apologize for the trouble! (Oh, and the back injury mentioned are three ossified vertabrae in his lumbar region from a broken tree saddle, best we can guess.)
Haha, no worries. I think people need to sometimes step back and realize that older horses aren’t going to look “good” but that doesn’t mean they aren’t happy or healthy. Sometimes, amazingly, the owner does actually know what’s best for the horse or what’s going on with the horse! If anyone has concerns about an animal’s health, then bring it up with the owner first. They might be able to enlighten you about the animal’s other medical conditions or concerns that make it look the way it does. If you do these things from a place of genuine concern, then you’re more likely to get a positive reaction (which could range from “Yeah, we know he has Cushings & no teeth” to “Wow, maybe I should have the vet out because you’re right he looks a little underweight”). And like, I might be a messy bench who loves drama... but seriously people don’t try and start shit over some petty disagreements over an old horse. Like, he’s old. He has ossified vertabrae, he’s blind. Let him live his days chilling and not being judged for looking a lil’ “ugly” because HE IS OLD.Smh, y’all fawning over the pic of that 28 year old gelding who roams the people’s property (which he’s super cute) but being petty about other people’s older horses.
