Isaac knew exactly how many days it had been since Zach and him stopped talking. He gave him the space that he said he wanted but that didn’t mean that he hadn’t been missing him more than anything. They had never gone over a week without talking or at least texting. So when Zach said to meet him in the courtyard cause he missed him, Isaac dropped everything.
He was waiting, when he heard the first explosion. The bang was unlike anything he had ever heard before and he stood up, seeing the flames. It wasn’t long before there was another one and Isaac’s entire body tensed up. Not now, not again, he couldn’t. He saw Zach across the courtyard, moving him towards him quickly, he didn’t know that they even had time to trade words but he said it anyway. “I’m sorry, okay? Now, we’ve got to go.”
Of all the stupid things to happen, his cell phone being trampled wasn’t one he had foreseen. He regretted each stupid joke that he’d made about breaking it out of sheer frustration. But there was no time to dwell on that as he made his way down the corridor. Apparently it was a day for stupid things to be done, because despite being under orders to ‘play nice’ he was about to break down several doors to get to a phone. At the moment the element of surprise was somewhat on his side, but that wasn’t an advantage he’d have for long. Especially not with the most direct route being through a series of well traveled corridors. He couldn’t risk them getting to the offices before he did though. The sound of voices made him move even faster before he heard a distinct sound of teleporting in and realized that he’d been found out. “Shit,” he swore under his breath, breaking into a dead run. @danteatwood
Nina had run into Winona and was glad of it. She hoped to talk to her about the Spirit World. She needed the woman’s advice and opinions, but unfortunately for her as soon as she made her way to Winona, she heard gunshots. She paused momentarily to pop into Alex’s mind, her phone is going off with texts as she looks at Winona. “Gunshots…We need to get somewhere safe.” She touched her chest where she’d gotten shot and for a moment she was afraid. Terrified actually that she would die again. “Where can we go?” she asked Winona, for once not taking the lead or running into danger. She was actually scared.
Zoey had run into Rowan earlier and she was always enthralled when she got to talk to her. Literally she wanted to grow up to be the woman, unfortunately, the discussion had been cut short when the telltale signs of the attack were underway. She looked at her then. “My drone! I need my drone!” She had figured out how to get necklaces off to be more effective with the hunters. She needed her tech. “We need to get to the tech lab. It’s close and we can be safe there,” she suggested. She also knew that Marcus was there and she wanted to make sure he was safe. She just hoped Rowan was game.
The explosions were the first sign of the attack. The boom echoed in Isabel’s ears leaving her stunned for a brief moment. Everyone started running. Students and staff alike were all rushing towards safety. It felt as though safety didn’t exist at RIAP anymore. Nothing could protect them. Nothing could save them. Already this had happened too many times. Each time more of them were taken out. It couldn’t go on like this.
In the chaos, Isabel spotted Brynn be knocked over in her wheelchair as the fleeing students and staff brushed past. Moving quickly through the mass of people, she got to Brynn’s side. “Are you hurt?” she asked quickly while moving to help set her chair back upright. “We’ve gotta get out of here.”
Kelsey: Please check in with me as soon as it's safe for you to do so. If you need assistance getting to the healer center, let me know and I'll do what I can.
Of course hunters were attacking again. Her immediate thought process was to try and get out of her room with her EMP and help out. That was what she knew she needed to do. Grabbing the EMP and the bracelet that went along with it, she immediately started heading down to the lobby. Once she got down there, she headed out the door. As soon as she got out of the building, she was knocked over by one of the witches that had been outside. The EMP fell out of her hand, but the bracelet was still on. “No!” She tried to grab it from the ground, but the witch was already on her. It only took a gust of air magic to push Ophelia against the wall and then all she heard was ringing in her head. Her vision became blurry and all she could do was try to get herself out of the situation. However, she had no idea how. Her coherency was gone and she couldn’t focus on anything that was happening around her. Watching as the witch came up to her, she immediately started pleading. The witch was completely blurry and she just started talking. “Please stop. You don’t want to do this. Please. Please. Pl—” She closed her eyes as she started to feel the breath leave her lungs. “Please...Stop...” This was surely the end for her. Maybe she wasn’t Nightwing. She couldn’t save Blüdhaven. @lincoln-palmer

Date: August 18, 2017
Location: Outside the Air dorms
Notes: Jade and Sophie are exiting the air dorms as they hunters begin to rush toward them, gunning down students in their wake. They must fight to hold them back. Rick is on his way from the music room helping a student. When the student is shot before his eyes and he disables the hunter as he’s retreating. He spots the girls under attack, seeing them overwhelmed and Jade get shot. Rick manages to arrive helping the Sophie fight off the hunters overtaking them.
Sophie was just gonna go for a walk as per usual, nothing big, the same old say. She was still upset about the fight with Liam but she was learning to let it go. She spotted someone from the corner of her eye and she looked up to check who it was. She knew the girl, knew she was good friends with her brother so she gave a short smile.
Her eyes detected movement in the background so she focused on that instead, hearing the sound of gunshots and watching as some students were shot. She saw the bullets approaching their way. "Watch out!", she yelled, grabbing Jade's shoulders and pushing her down to the ground.
Jade was on her way to Liam's apartment, mostly because she needed someone to talk to about the Zoey situation. Having all of these feelings just made her head spin, she was ready to just up and fly away from this school. Noticing another figure coming towards her and she saw it was Liam's little sister, giving her a happy smile as they got closer. At the sound of gunshots Jade tensed up, she tried to focus in on where it was coming from. At Sophie pushing her down, Jade looked at her intensely. "Get off of me. You're going to get us both shot Sophie." Pushing the other girl off of her as she focused in on the hunter coming towards her, she positioned her hands as she dropped the atmosphere around the hunter causing him to start choking. "We need to get out of here there's probably coming." Keeping the atmosphere low until the hunter eventually passed out. "I'm pretty sure your brother might kill the other if one of us dies. So promise that we'll have each others backs for this?"
Sophie: Sophie got up and listened to Jade, nodding. "Yes, yes, we'll get through this.", she watched as the hunter passed out but saw a bunch more approaching. "We need to hide, we can't take this many.", as the bullets came, Sophie took a deep breath and sent a circle of a air to push the bullets away from them. "We need to go!"
Jade pulled herself up as she nodded to show Sophie that she agreed with what she said. "Nice shot." Giving Sophie a smile as she took off running, she got a bit away before turning back, she dropped the atmosphere once more to knock out a few hunters who were trailing behind them. "The air dorms are over there or we can try to get to over to that building and get into a classroom." Pointing towards the building near them as she looked down at Sophie, she tried to make the decision on what she was going to do.
Rick was talking to one of his students that wanted to have a jam session. They had just wrapped and they were walking from the music room when it was that familiarly annoying sounds of gunshots once again. The hunters were opening fire and Rick quickly brought him and Brian cover. When Then hunters moved on from their location, Brian thought it was all clear before checking. Before he could say wait, the kid was shot multiple times in front of him. Rick manipulated the ground around the hunter lifting on both sides colliding with the hunter. He heaved a sigh, wanting so badly to stay to try and get him help, but instead, he froze and watched this kid die before his very eyes. It only took a moment for him to realize that he needed to keep moving, and that was when he saw the girls. He took off at a sprint toward them, vowing not to let anyone else get hurt or die on his watch.
Sophie: "Classroom sounds better. The dorms are probably filled with people.", she glanced down and noticed one that had flames coming out the windows. She hoped everybody was fine. She was going to start to walk when she saw Rick. "I'm glad you're okay.", she meant it and started walking. "We're going to the classrooms, maybe we can hide there? I really don't think we should try to fight these people, they're insane.".
Jade nodded in agreement at Sophie's words, she looked to the building that held the classrooms. "What?" Hearing Sophie talk, as she looked in the direction she was speaking and she saw Rick. Who she'd been promptly avoiding since the slept together a couple hunter attacks ago, mostly because she'd been solely sleeping with Zoey for the past few months. Watching as Rick came running to them and she looked behind them to see the hunters coming towards them. As she put her hands up to send a blast of air to stop the bullets she felt a sharp pain colliding with her right side and she screamed out in pain. The magic she once felt connected to was gone, she couldn't channel her magic at all. Screaming out in agony as she fell to her knees, she put her hand to her side as continued to scream. Tears started to fall down her cheeks as she tried to focus on something else besides the pain, but it was becoming too much.
Rick had made it to the girls, glad for a moment that there were no hunters in their immediate vicinity. He nodded to Sophie not being able to muster much of a smile. “Glad you ladies are okay too.” His eyes were scanning around when she said that they were heading to classrooms. “I just came from the music room. It was safe earlier. I make no promises now, but we can try.” He turned So that they could start running again, barely realizing that Emerald was there until she spoke. Rick turned just in time to see Emerald getting shot. Quick thinking, he built up a barrier from the earth around them. He was getting angry again at so many lives lost and people getting shot in front of his eyes. “Stay here, take care of her!” He left the protection he provided them for a moment, using the vines from surrounding plants to wrap the trigger happy hunter up. Telekinetically, and with much concentration, he lifted a tree from the ground and tossed it at a group of hunters. He ran back to the girls. “How’s she doing? We’ve got to go, that tree won’t last that long, more are coming,” he old Sophie. “Emerald, hang in there, stay with us okay. We’ve got to get you out of here.”
Sophie only turned when she heard Jade screaming, her heartbeat increasing immediately. She watched as the girl fell to the ground, feeling lightheaded, this was so surreal. She immediately bent down, thankful Rick was there to cover for them. "Jade, breathe.", she tried to keep a steady voice though she was freaking out. She thanked for her Med major though, would probably come in handy. "Please breathe, it's gonna be okay, Jade.", she saw the bullet wound gushing blood and she immediately took off her cardigan, folding it rapidly and applying pressure to the wound. "Rick!", she yelled. "We need to get her out of here, fast!", eyes flickered between Jade and Rick. "Pick her up, I'll cover for you two.", hand rubbed Jade's face, brushing the hair away from her away. "We've got you, girl, don't worry. Just focus on staying awake, please."
Jade just continued to scream out in agony as she held onto the side. She couldn't help but think this was the universe getting back to her for being so confident that she’d be okay. Or maybe this was punishment for all of her sins, they’d finally caught up to her. Trying to breathe, but as she held onto her side even thought it was becoming increasingly difficult. Winching as Sophie applied pressure, she was sure that she was going to die and this would how it’d all end. She’d be just another victim of the hunter attacks, another name on the ever growing list. She couldn’t help but think that’s maybe what she deserved. “I’ll try, but no promises.” Saying to both of them, she just looked back at Sophie as she tried to comfort her. She closed her eyes as the pain became worse. “Just leave me you guys can go it’s okay.”
Rick took a deep breath. He knew that the tree kept the hunters around the immediate vicinity busy, but for the moment, everyone was busy and they still had the cover of the wall of vines and earth built up around them. “The quickest way is if I teleport her. But I can’t take you both,” he looked at Sophie seriously. “If you can teleport do it not even a few seconds after us, do you understand? If you’re not with us, I’m coming back for you. I’m not leaving anyone behind. If you have to stay behind this wall if you can’t teleport. I’ve got to get her there before she bleeds out, okay?” He hoped he was making the right decision. “Emerald, I’m taking you to the healing center. He gently gathered her into his arms, his hand putting pressure on her wound. “Remember what I said Sophie, either you’re with us, or you hide.” He took a moment and then he teleported into the healing center. It was chaos and madness, but he shifted Jade off into the arms of a trusted staff member. “I’m going to be here when they’re done and make sure you’re okay,” he promised Jade. “I’ll call whoever you want me to call.” he just had to make sure Sophie was okay now.
Sophie listened to Rick, still pressing the fabric against Jade's wound, watching as it turned red and stained her hands. "I can't but it's fine, you take her, I can manage.", she hoped the words to be true, she'd never been face to face with hunters, especially not alone. "Keep applying pressure, Rick, she's lost so much blood already.", she was worried, it was obvious. She let Rick pick Jade up and watched as they teleported, staying behind the wall just like he'd instructed her to do, her hands ready if she had to face anyone.
Jade was pretty positive this was the end, she wasn't coming back from this. As Rick picked her up she screamed out in pain, she felt like the bullet as moving further inside of her. Wrapping her arm around his neck as tears streamed down her face, she could barely see what was going on anymore. Holding onto Rick as they teleported, she felt herself slipping into unconsciousness. Feeling herself being handed off as she tried to look up at him. "Just call Liam and Zoey when you get a chance. Please don't worry them." With that she passed out completely as the healers took over.
Rick teleported back to Sophie. He was so lucky that no hunters were around. He breathed a sigh of relief when she was behind the wall still. “It’s me, Sophie. It’s me!” He wanted to make sure she wasn’t going to attack him thinking he was a hunter. He didn’t even think he simply scooped her into his arms, and teleported her to the healing center too. “I know you didn’t get hurt but we’re going to get you checked out too when the healers come. I’m here, I’m not going to leave either of you alone until this is over,” he assured. Seeing too many kids shot down before his eyes made him soft. He’d stick with these girls until this chaos was over.
