Weeks had passed since she last took a real break. Working herself tirelessly, pausing only to eat and have a few kola nuts to stay awake. Her portal was almost complete. She could go home soon.
She had been trapped in this strange dimension for years now. Spiders the size of wolves creeped around every corner, zombies, skeletons.. everything was out to kill her.
Although, they weren't as bad as the axe wielding bandits that took her arm a few months back.. but that was easly replaced with some brass components to make a functional prosthesis. Just like the one she made for her leg decades ago.
Thank the gods her mother taught her the dwaven arts of smithing before she disappeared.. Not like her good for nothing father would've taught her anything. Typical selfish goblins..
She clenched her jaw, pushing the heavy portal block into place with the others. Hopefully her calculations were correct this time..
She missed her homeland Faeria terribly.
Her distractions kept her from hearing a nearby hissing and she hardly had time to dodge out of the way as the earth exploded around her.
"Fricking bombers.." She coughed and cursed, getting up as she checked for injuries. A few scrapes, nothing bad thanks to her armor.
She finished pushing the portal block into place, watching it spark and come to life. It hummed with infinite energy, the center full of the swirling vortex that would take her through time and space.
She stepped up to the base of the portal, in awe of how big it had to be. 50 cubits top to bottom and almost as wide. She took a deep breath and jumped in, letting the swirling vortex take her.. hopefully she wouldn't pop out in some random universe like this last time..
