Y'all
I had the misfortune of being at an event with (pastor) and she had some. Fascinating moments
- Said the church should remove any 'male gendered' language from the liturgy, because God is never referred to as male in the Bible
- when me and someone else pointed out that this was blatantly false, she insisted that anything referring to God in that way was edited and not present in the original version (🙄
- explained that she was fired from a committee because the committee was racist, but then explained that she had called a pregnant member of said committee a "broodmare" and her child a leech at an event organized and hosted by said committee (this is of course awesome and progressive. Because children are evil and women who are mothers are stupid, don't you know. At least my parents seemed to be the only ones okay with that)
- said that our church should move away from using white on Christmas and Easter, because white = special is problematic and "it's the only color used that's also associated with a race" which is just. What. Additionally seemed disinterested in the little old ladies who offered to design and see new paraments for free
