seeing the clip from the conga line at the last concert i can‘t believe that i really used to believe with my whole heart that they would come back it was so clearly a goodbye concert :(

mmm i’m not of that same belief. they knew they weren’t coming back in the 18 month period they claimed the entire promo cycle. that much is true, but i don’t look at that video or think cynically about the fact that this was a “goodbye concert.” they’d performed together on those stages months longer every year than they were even at home since 2010-2011. they grew up on that stage together with everyone there. regardless of how long the break was/is, that’s a bittersweet moment for anyone not knowing exactly when they’ll all be there together again. and i’ve never thought of it as a “clear goodbye” of never coming back. it just is what it is, and there’s no reason to think they won’t come back at some point when they all feel comfortable and can do it on their terms without having to answer to anyone else. so is it emo? yeah. is it a clear indication they knew six years ago that was the last show/tour date they would ever play together? absolutely not lol
