i love leopard seals. they look so much like dinosaurs/dragons but seals.
i wanted to even add them in AWAKENING as species of lesser spirits, but sadly they live in antarctic while AWAKENING takes place near greenland. i only realised it when i made this one drawing actually :')
then i made them. they don't have a name as species yet, and they need some proper redesigning, but i think they're still cool.
kinda like selkies... or whatever. they're supposed to look scary, like human faces in the water/under ice. or whatever.
i made a friend for spichka. he has a lot of hands to lend.... actually, he only has hands.
almost a triangular number.
i caught myself thinking... what if @snakeryy's characters were olkhon spirits? so i made some little sketches. i still haven't done any lore posts explaining spirit species, but i'll give short explanations here. maybe, one day, i'll make a proper post...
jacques — ofc he'd been a pikorinu, tree-like spirit. they're highly intelligent and process information literally like biological computers. yet they're weak and pretty slow physically (they even hibernate in winter). so jacques was the first one to be designed, it was pretty obvious.
marc — marc is a regular human being cuz i couldn't think of anything else lololol
eugène — in my opinion eugène would be imanuki. they look and function almost like humans (humans considered them to be their ancestors) but with one difference — they can control water. imanuki are typical residents of olkhon and basically are olkhon's hosts so... eugène is just a regular guy but a little bit cooler than that.
clopin — eehhh... i had two options: either i draw him as ankigut, literally fire elemental, or as velnorinu. and i went with the second option. let me exxxplain.
velnorinu spirits are artificial spirits made specifically to be a working force. they're just like robots, can understand instructions and commands and even make simple choices. still they can't be called autonomous (and intelligent) really. but there's that one guy, a velnorinu, who happens to be actually extremely autonomous (and intelligent). and he doesn't like how «spirits of olkhon treat velnorinu spirits». he often sabotages production and leads grops of velnorinu spirits in an unknown direction.
(little did he know that they can't actually process that something is wrong and simply follow him because he commands them to do so uhhhhh... he can't see his own mental errors.)
and so i thought: «OH WOW WHAT IF THERE WERE TWO OF THEM???» so clopin now is the second thinking one HAHAHHAH, TEO NEEDS COMPANY.
this was yet another university assignment: draw an abstract image and then try to explain it in french to others. sooo i think it's clear from titles what're the meanings
« en tête » — « in the head »
« dance au bord de la mer » — « dancing by the sea »
old selfie.
i have big big problems with understanding lighting & perspective, so i tried to do both.
i feel INSANE.
i decided to make a brand new dictionary, the previous one is English-Farlandic and i use it to write down new words, and this one is Russian-Farlandic, includes all three variants of writing, and IPA transcription (kinda wacky i can do better i'm just kinda lazy to do more research and i skipped theoretical phonetics course at the uni), and i add words there only if the corresponding topic is complete
I WISH I COULD JUST STAY HOME FOREVER AND DO THIS
