Rules: Use THIS picrew to make your OC's!
This was actually really hard using this picrew, but I did my best to make my two main characters in Beauty: Anwen and Seren.
Gently tagging: @janec23 @cosmo-lexies @athenswrites @star-studded-whales and anyone else who wants to do it! (feel free to let me know if you want to be tagged or don't want to be tagged in these going forward!)

Sharing from the Sapphic Beauty & the Beast retelling again.
“May I know your name?”
Her wine was half-way to her mouth but she paused, holding the goblet in place.
“Seren.”
“Lord Seren.” I liked how it sounded; it reminded me of ravens.
“Just Seren, if you'd like.” She took a sip of her drink and added: “I am aware you are telling the servants to stop calling you ‘lady’, so I suppose we may drop titles.”
“Seren…” I said, testing it. “What does it mean?”
“In the old tongue, it meant ‘star’.”
“Does my name have a meaning in the old tongue?”
“Every name does. Anwen means ‘beauty’.”
thank you for tagging me @janec23! Check out her post HERE!
I chose some lines from my sapphic beauty & the beast retelling 🌹
I think this might have been more than 9 lines but honestly im sleep deprived and i'm not going to count them again
But one can hardly flee while on the back of a horse that is guided by another’s hand.
Instead, I reached for their hand, the one still holding my waist. My fingers brushed over theirs, tracing each slender one, urging the fire within me to spread into them. I wanted more, I wanted their touch, but I knew Seren would never take more than they knew I wanted to give.
So I guided their hand higher, up my torso and to the curve of my breasts, and I left them there. Behind me, their body had grown stiff; beneath us, Ahearn had stopped moving.
My liege’s breath was still hot on my neck as their fingers toyed with the strings of my dress. They pulled at them, one by one, until the top of my gown was loosened and their fingers could grace my skin.
But they did not linger. They graced the top of my breasts with but the faintest of brushes, and then pulled their hand away as though scorched. I felt them lean back, away from me; their breath drifted far from my neck.
Gently tagging literally anyone who sees this and wants to share their lines! I'd love to read them! Just tag me so I can see and check it out :)
I was tagged by both @justnerdy15 and @cosmo-lexies thank you both! Check out their posts here and here!
Rules: share an out of context line from a wip
From my Sapphic Beauty & the Beast Retelling
“Your hair will be so soft and lovely!” she chimed. While I worked to dry off, she glided over to the wardrobe to pull out the emerald gown I was fated to wear.
“What is so special about this dress?” I asked, but Mrs. Potterson only shrugged.
“Couldn’t tell ya, dear, maybe our liege simply likes the color.”
“Then perhaps our liege should wear it instead.”
Leaving this an open tag b/c I've been away for a little while and don't know who's done this recently and who hasn't. But if you do it, please tag me so I can read your WIP lines!
Found a picrew earlier that is fitting for Seren. I don't have a link rn because I'm on mobile but I'm pretty sure this was called softboi or something like it
I imagine her features a bit sharper but I'm lazy and haven't drawn her yet so this will do
I have a question about the Beauty and the Beast retelling. You presented the Beauty, Anwen, (correct me if I am wrong), but who is the beast? You left me hanging there :O
Plus I am really hyped about this being a sapphic retelling! And the fact you are focusing on self love is so sweet, I am looking forward to it! (but no pressure of course U.U)
Hi!! c:
The lack or Beast info was intentional, because her situation and secrets are also a big part of the story n_n Her name, however, is Seren.
I'll be using my Beauty & The Beast retelling for this, because out of all my WIPs, it has the most written for it.
Blank questions will be under the cut!
1. What is the main lesson of your story (e.g. kindness, diversity, anti-war), and why did you choose it?
Self-love is a huge theme for this story, and I chose it because it's something I have and still do struggle with. I think a lot of us do. Another major theme is the fact that we are never alone and do not have to face our demons alone. This is also something I think is very important for people to remember, especially those suffering trials they feel only they can weather.
2. What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding (like real-life cultures, animals, famous media, websites, etc.)?
Beauty and the Beast is an obvious answer here, since the story is based on that fairytale. I also have been very much inspired by the ancient celts and pagan themes for the setting.
3. What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, help readers grow as a person?
Anwen, my MC, begins her journey with one goal: keeping her aging mother safe. She sacrifices everything for this. Her goals shift throughout the story. One of them is to bring life back to a place left in sorrow and shadow. Another is to help someone who refuses all aid. Through Anwen, I want to inspire readers to be unafraid of who they are, what they look like, and who they love. I want readers to know they are not alone, to encourage those who need it to open up and allow others to reach in and help them stand when they have fallen. There are honestly many things I hope to achieve with this story, but saying too much will give too much away!
4. How many chapters is your story going to have?
As many as it takes! At the moment there are over 30K words, but when I began writing it was just stream of thought. I never paused to organize chapters - that comes later.
5. Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it?
Original, but I suppose you can argue that it's a fanfiction of Beauty and the Beast? I'm not sure where I plan to post it. I think it'd be wonderful to eventually publish it, but... perhaps I'll post it on AO3 under fairytales?
6. When and why did you start writing?
I started writing when I was a baby. Honestly, the moment I learned how to write and spell. I distinctly recall one of my first ever poems being about my sister's stinky feet. I'm not sure WHY I started, other than i just enjoyed it!
7. Do you have any words of engagement for fellow writers of Writeblr? What other writers of Tumblr do you follow?
Don't stop! Even when you think it's trash, even when you feel uninspired, even when you think you'll never write something worth reading. Keep. Writing. Write for YOU. Write what YOU want to read. Write because YOU want your story to exist for YOU.
I still feel very new to writeblr so I'm always looking for more writers to follow!
