Make Your Life Count: The Greatest Missions Letter Ever Written

One day soon, people from every nation will bring God praise and glory. But they won’t encounter everlasting hope until God’s people go and send. Piper preached this message on January 4, 2019, at the CROSS Conference in Louisville, where thousands gathered to discern their call to the nations.

Dear Friend,

Let's go to God with our worries, cares, and anxieties knowing that He in control of all things. We go to Him with the faith of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ, knowing that our Heavenly Father is the only true God Who sent His Son to die for us so we may have eternal life. Knowing this, we come to Him with thanksgiving, with a grateful heart for the work He has done for us, in us and is still doing. While we were yet sinners, God loved us, and sent His only Son, LORD Jesus Christ  to died for us. Romans 5:8. What an amazing and miraculous truth!

The divine and unmerited gift of salvation should always live in our hearts and minds, so may continuously give thanks unto Him for His unconditional love. This is a commandment. A grateful heart should always be approached to God, even in our deepest, hardest trials and tribulations. Even if we may not understand them. While not forgetting the work He has done and still doing. This truth gives us perfect peace, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31) Let's take courage, for the true God has power over all our circumstances! 

Therefore, when we pray, let's give God our deepest praise, as we then we give Him our supplications and requests. Knowing His eternal peace is given to us by promise, for He cares about us.

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." -Jesus Christ, John 14:27

Kafka and the Doll: The Pervasiveness of Loss.

“Franz Kafka, the story goes, encountered a little girl in the park where he went walking daily. She was crying. She had lost her doll and was desolate. Kafka offered to help her look for the doll and arranged to meet her the next day at the same spot. Unable to find the doll he composed a letter from the doll and read it to her when they met. "Please do not mourn me, I have gone on a trip to see the world. I will write you of my adventures.” This was the beginning of many letters. When he and the little girl met he read her from these carefully composed letters the imagined adventures of the beloved doll. The little girl was comforted. When the meetings came to an end Kafka presented her with a doll. She obviously looked different from the original doll. An attached letter explained: “My travels have changed me…” #kafka Many years later, the now grown girl found a letter stuffed into an unnoticed crevice in the cherished replacement doll. In summary it said: “Every thing that you love, you will eventually lose, but in the end, love will return in a different form.” (at The Palisades of Towson)
