Hak took his duties as Yona’s bodyguard seriously.

…Even when it came to defending her from nightmares or sleep paralysis. 

The princess was always demanding, always loud. She’d never known pain or discomfort in her life, surrounded by the luxury and protection of Hiryuu Castle. That didn’t mean she was immune to nightmares, to fear, to anxiety. Hak could protect her from any foe, but he was never sure how to defeat these unseen demons for her. 

So he sat at her bedside instead, keeping vigil as she requested. Her hand was curled around his pinky, tucking it close to her cheek. He’d extinguished most of the lanterns in the room, leaving it dim, and her breathing had long evened out. So far, there wasn’t a hint of pain or distress from her, so her sleep was a peaceful one. 

Princess Yona may be sheltered, but she was no less caring. The subject of her nightmares was him, apparently, and she was fearful of his death. 

It was laughable, in a way. Hak was strong, so strong there wasn’t a soul in the kingdom who could best him. He wouldn’t be dying on her, and he’d cut down any enemy who tried to hurt her. That being said… 

As much as it was laughable, it was also sweet.

Hak shouldn’t entertain the budding feelings for her that grew in his chest, nurtured by each moment he spent watching her cling to him as she slept. She was a princess, and she loved another. Hak didn’t want to get in the way of their happiness. 

The growing feelings in his chest would stay there, quiet and unrealized. Hak would ensure his feelings never become known, that he never got in the way of the happy future that Yona envisioned for herself. He was happy just to be at her side, to watch over both her and his best friend. 

Careful not to dislodge his finger from where Yona was still clutching it, Hak shifted to lean back on his arms and stare at the ceiling. 

Ah… He was hopeless.

No matter how much he thought about how he couldn’t ever act on his own feelings, that didn’t stop the way they ached in his chest. He glanced to the side, watching Yona’s serene face. He raised his other arm to reach for her, then pulled back after thinking better of it. 

He sighed and flopped onto the floor, laying just next to the princess’s futon. 

Ah, well. At least he could stay by her side. He was content enough with that.

Oh lord. I have no idea how much I’ve written, because I’ve also written a bunch of essays for school, haha. But I’ve PUBLISHED 33,264. Not that much in comparison to a lot of people.

3. what work are you most proud of?

‘The Ghosts of Small Killed Things’

Mainly because it is my first work since writing again that has more than one chapter. It only has two chapters, but that’s a lot for me. U_U

4. what work has the most hits?

‘Gauze’

This one surprises me, because it’s my shortest story, and imo, one of my weakest.

5. what work got more feedback than expected?

Honestly? All of them! I’m always shocked anyone reads my works!

6. favorite title you used?

‘With Every Cut You Find Something New To Hate’ because I feel it’s the title that fits best with series it’s from. Silent Hill 2 has a lot of unsettling and creepy things written all around, and I hope it sounds like something that could be read in the game.

7. if you use song lyrics, what artist did you pull from most?

I haven’t used a lot of song titles this year, but ‘Born Sick’ was inspired by a line in a Hoizer song.

8. pairing you wrote the most for this year?

Vashwood… to the shock of NO ONE. I basically gave up on writing, until binge reading Trigun and falling deep into the hyperfixation hell.

9. favorite pairing you wrote for this year?

Vashwood my beloved. I’m not a multishipper and super picky about ships, so… you’re basically gonna be getting more of that next year sorry. lol

Probably ‘Sugar Kisses’ my MillyMeryl smut.

‘The Ghosts of Small Killed Things’

3? I have a SH2 fic, Vashwood smut, and then a multi chapter AU for Vashwood as well.

‘The Ghosts of Small Killed Things’ at about 14k, which is not much, but it’s a lot for me.

14. what's your shortest work of the year?

‘Gauze’ at about 1,500 words.

15. what work are you taking into next year with you?

My unpublished multi chapter WIP hehe

‘Implied/referenced child abuse’ and ‘anal sex’ apparently. Idk what’s wrong with me. Many things, it seems.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood, as expected. I NEED to chew on him. Abused Dog Vibes And Loving Nature Have Enchanted Me

18. the character that gave you the most trouble this year?

Pyramid Head, due to being the non speaking, extremely phallic manifestation of James’s desire for punishment. I was super worried he would come off as either too over the top or too goofy.

MillyMeryl! They’re very fun to write

None, I’ve reread each about once? I don’t like my own writing very much, hahaha.

I don’t have one, I tend to not like my own lines very much.

Mostly that I even wanted to write again! I was possessed by the spirt of yaoi, I guess!
