Don’t look now, but here come the Padres. By now you probably know that we love the Padres and think they will make a run in the 2nd half of the season, possibly into the playoffs.

They Padres have great young parts and plenty of bums, but one bum in particular has led the charge. That would be shortstop Everth Cabrera.

Just look at his numbers:

4 Home Runs 24 RBIs .305 avg./ .385 OBP/ .418 SLG 31 SBs (league leading) 3.6 WAR (8th best in the MLB)

If San Diego was a major market Cabrera would be a superstar. He’s an exciting young player that if given the chance, people would love to watch play. However, Cabrera plays in a small market, like San Diego and on a team with no expectations. So this is your heads-up; jump on the Everth Cabrera bandwagon before he becomes a star
