Some mornings living with Astarion can be … challenging.
Sure, there are tender mornings, when he will pull you close, cuddling up to you with his eyes still shut, small grunts of protest coming from his mouth until you stop moving and gladly stay where you are. Some mornings, you will wake up and find him looking at you with a tender look on his face. This used to unsettle you when you began your relationship - but now, when you think about him watching over you, you feel safe, cherished.
But then … there are other mornings.
“Get up!” His voice is so close to your ear you almost jump. "I said get up," he repeats as you feel him shake your shoulder impatiently. Astarion’s probably been up for hours at this point - you smell the tea he has brought to your bedside. “My Gods, you’re so lazy, just like Gale,” he huffs. You roll your closed eyes and remind yourself he’s just bored when you feel a tuck on your blanket. Oh, absolutely not! You hold on to it for dear life. “Get out of bed and get up. It’s the morning!” He sighs in indignation, you hear him tapping his foot on the floor. “Listen, I might be a vampire who’s been away from the sun for 200 years … but even I don’t rest in!” which is absolutely not true, by the way. Your pillow is yanked out from under your head, and you let out a surprised yelp. “Get the fuck up.” he adds breathlessly as he smacks you with your own pillow.
Yeah. Some mornings living with Astarion can be very challenging.
