So before Brian and Michael go to their prom, they stop by some liquor store to buy drinks. After Brian grabbed some bottles, "he saw a small blonde-haired boy sitting on the floor holding a teddy bear. The kid appeared to be around six or seven." Then the two actually have a conversation about the kid not being allowed to talk to strangers and Brian asks what the name of the teddy bear is and the kid says "Gus." Brian's like "Well, hello, Gus. It's nice to meet you. So now that I know Gus and Gus knows you, I guess that means we're not strangers anymore." And Justin replies: "No, it means you think this bear is real. Which makes you a crazy stranger. That's worse." And then the book says "Brian had been caught totally off guard by the kid's comment. He was pretty sharp for a six-year-old." After that the kid's mother appears and says "Justin, don't run off like that," and they leave the store.

"Every Nine Seconds", a QaF novel
So, I finished it yesterday. It was surprisingly good, to be honest. Did it read like fanfiction? A little bit, yeah, but that doesn't mean it's not a good novel. The characterization of Michael and Brian was dead on, showing us parts of their past that we don't get to see in the show. And the sex scenes are steamy! And it's good to read smut written from a male point of view, if only to see how it varies. It really doesn't, but still.
The only downside is the unavoidable Michael/Brian moment, here and there. But they are all tolerable. All except for one scene that is totally cringe-worthy and had me crying for my mama. And it doesn't even involve any sex!
So, all in all, a great read. Get your hands on it if you can, folkers! :D
The QAF trilogy novels are really good.
I recommend them to all the QAF fans. A few things are inaccurate to the show, like Brian Kinney's bracelet and Ted's college education, but most things are accurate as fuck.
