Dinner with the family // very open
Dinner wasn't the best time of the night. But considering most people seemed to be distracted, either with other people or their own problems, Emilija knew that she could have some time to herself in the kitchen. It probably wouldn't last, but at least she'd have it now. Hesitating as she stood over the cooker, she inspected what she was making before putting what was left (she would only eat a small portion, definitely) until another bowl to allow others to eat. Emilija wasn't the best cook around, but she could remember the recipes given to her by her mother when she wanted to.
She glanced at the bowl, curious as to how much she had managed to make. Enough for the whole crew? Unlikely, but it was there. She put her own bowl down on the table and then walked back over to the counter to get a drink. She dug around in the cabinets, managing to find a small clear bottle of gin. Feeling her luck turning, she took out the bottle, poured some of it in a small dusty glass and took a sip.
"Nng." she murmured, neck tensing and she shuddered, fixing her leather jacket and picked up the bottle and the glass back to her bowl of stew, picking at what was there with her spoon before taking some of it in. And it was damn good, if she said so herself. Glancing around, she suddenly felt... Alone. Perhaps ignoring everyone on Serenity wasn't a good move. She pursed her lips and dropped her spoon into the bowl, crossing her arms on the table. She needed company, or else she'd go insane. Her ploy to leave Serenity at the last dock had turned itself on its head; as did the plan before that.
Why the heck am I stayin' on this luh suh? she thought miserably to herself. Biting her lower lip, she glanced at each door before running a hand along an eyebrow irritably. Perhaps the smell of stew would bring someone up for food.
