Water Once Passed Here
There are places that never make it into guidebooks.
Not because they aren't beautiful, but because they were never built to be noticed.
A simple granite tap set into a village wall. Once it would have been part of everyday life. A place to fill a bucket, wash muddy hands, or pause for a conversation before carrying on.
Now it stands quietly, no longer central to the rhythm of the village, but still holding the marks of the people who once depended on it.
It's easy to photograph grand buildings and famous landmarks.
Sometimes I'm more interested in the things that remain after they've stopped being important.
The worn granite.
The dark metal.
The way years of weather and use have shaped the stone.
Not everything worth remembering was built to be remembered.
