See, what I love about GotG is it's one of those movies where everyone's personalities are so diverse and interesting, any combination you can come up with between the characters is bound to spark something really interesting.

Aaah sorry I wasn't being clear. I didn't know this ship is a thing after I joined tumblr (a new comer here!) but suddenly there's a lot of their fanart/fic? Sadly I don't see them as potentially be a couple?

well first, it’s okay if you don’t ship them romantically or at all, as long as you don’t shame someone who does (aka ship hate, that stuff ain’t cool)

Anyways! To start off, shipping is something personal and it usually reflects on your own preferences (be mindful that sometimes people will ship things just because it's fun) You can literally ship anything you want, so can everyone else. This also means that while you can’t see a potential in a ship it doesn’t mean that it’s the same for another person. You'll either agree, disagree or remain neutral. Just remember to be respectful towards people’s preferences, because in the end, ships are all fictional :D

and yeah aru//ani was a pretty unpopular ship when I began shipping it, but it seems like its shipping base has grown since then! Lots of fanart/fanfics! To some it’s never ending, to others it’s not enough.

as for me, the reason I shipped them is because I like pairings where a seemingly grumpy, cold character (Annie) warms up to a kind, insightful character (Armin). But I think they just seem cute together, also Armin finally being taller in the relationship :')

I think most people ship it for that reason too though! Ah however, the revelation about Annie's character pushed some people away (including myself).... even so, there are still those overlook that fact and the fact that she’s currently stuck in a crystal and just ship them till their hearts content and that’s perfectly fine!! Because ships are fictional and AUs (alternative universes) and headcanons exist and no one’s stopping you
