I posted a "just for fun" theory about the idea of Cloud & Aerith praying for Holy together.

Only to see SSTP Hollow cover release with official promotion by JP account of Buster Sword being shown White Materia being inserted into the materia slots.

Especially since at the end of Rebirth, we also saw Black Materia being inserted (absorbed) by Buster Sword. And Cloud DO have the empty Materia from the other Aerith...

I think it's possible, and the hollow materia is being teased as something Cloud will equip at some point in the story (otherwise, why even have it?)

I also think the choice to use the older version of the buster sword is interesting. The white materia being equipped onto it makes me think back to what FF Tactics described the materia being capable of:

So could AC Cloud have found it and used it for his own "rebirth" ?

Yeah. My parallel thought being "Cloud (as a puppet) use Meteor with Sephiroth" would narratively match well with "Cloud (as his full, real self) use Holy with Aerith".

If it's OG-AC, I wouldn't consider it (plus, he's not Cetra). But since FF7R trilogy have been setting up interesting things, that's enough for Cloud to potentially qualify and use White Materia (after filling it up with emotions/experience in Revelation?).

They did specifically change Buster Sword's design in Crisis Core Reunion, so we can associate the older design (gold) with Cloud purely.
