ITS ORIGINAL STORY/CHARACTER TIME!
Lemme introduce you to the story of “Every Something”, A story about gods family
I am absolutely disgusted by the things so many Tumblr users are saying in regard to Joan Rivers' passing. Seriously. To anyone who has posted any kind of disrespect in regard to this amazing woman, you should be ashamed. "She was mean", "This kind of humor shouldn't be condoned", "She's not a true pioneer"...to this I say get the fuck over yourselves. All of these posts I am reading that come from whiny, over sensitive bloggers are really pissing me off. Joan Rivers was a COMIC. She had a PERSONA which she created during a difficult time for female performers. This doesn't discredit any other female comics, but Joan will always be a pioneer. This is how Joan built an amazing career. I'm reading shit like "She was mean and never did anything kind" etc. Does anyone realize that there is a monumental difference between her comic persona and Joan the person? Have any of you Tumblr critics even seen the documentary on her LIFE? She visited and fed homeless. She donated to AIDS charities. She was an advocate for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the HRC. An animal rights activist. So many people are overlooking the fact that she was a REAL person too, separate from the persona. But then of course, we have the people who need to be coddled and shielded from real life who thought her JOKES were mean. So therefore, her death deserves to be celebrated. Give me a fucking break. Yes, the women gave no fucks when it came to making fun. But you know what? IT'S MAKING FUN. That was her schtick and that was her job. The job that pulled a WOMAN to stardom in a "Man's" business. And damn, she was fabulous. "Oh but she's racist, she's homophobic, she's transphobic boo hoo boo hoo" Yeah and you're "agist, chauvinistic and anti Semitic" for gloating in her death. Cry louder babies. As she always said..."Everyone is something. We just need to calm down." She made fun of everyone because she loved everyone. “Every joke I make, no matter how tasteless, is there to draw attention to something I really care about.” So go ahead and gloat because she made "off limits" jokes. While you are all hiding behind your blogs whining like petulant children about how she made mean jokes about taboo subjects...I'll be joining all the people who can take a fucking joke (Kathy Griffin, Whoopi Goldberg, Margaret Cho, Laverne Cox for starters) in mourning the loss of a comedy legend. RIP Joan.
