if gooseworx clearly wanted the show to culminate with focusing on jax's downfall why didn't she just write a different show centered on him and his life instead of presenting tadc as inspired by ihnmaims and claiming the moral is "make meaning in your stagnant life" (a moral that to me doesn't even land with the knowledge that all the characters are digital copies and not actual people, therefore they're not even really alive and the meaning in their existence is very shallow)... like that's my overall issue with tadc, you don't get what's on the tin. had i known the whole show was going to keep shifting focus back to that purple asshole and then have the last episode be a reel of his circus life/mind (something none of the other characters got by the way) that was tooootally not meant to manipulate people into feeling sympathetic towards him after all the fuckass shit we've seen him do, i wouldn't have watched it. i watched it to get answers about the mystery that is the gaming company and the world outside of the circus and the show didn't give me satisfactory answers to either of those.
