Sorry this took so long to get to!!! I was taking a little break from the blog but i just wanna let you know this ship is already amazing and im surprised more people dont ship it considering all the things in common they share (also cause they sound like a bomb food combo)
Golden cheese and black raisin actually have alot in common, they have smiliar theming with birds, protection, collecting but also personality-wise as both characters are quite hard-headed and commited often even acting out of accord when they believe it is in the benefit of others. Going more specific, in the story both characters are shown having a strong resolution, sticking to their word and commiting themself to a specific idea, in the case of both characters, protecting others. Black raisin is often shown being hostile to people she deems untrustworthy which i believe is trait not only formed from her desire to keep her group safe but also because of the danger she was put in. Golden cheese acts similarly but is much more privy to change, very quickly begining to accomdate to raisin and the rest after their battle. They also both suffered great loss, sacrificing everything they had for the people they care about no matter how painful it was, raisin even direclty states in the story that she can relate to cheese with her loss and obsession with greed and protection (even if raisin her self isnt very used to luxuary or even likes it), i love this interaction too because they both seem as if they may come off on a bad foot with eachother but in the story they very quickly come to relate and accept eachother which is so cute!!!!
Despite their similarities, raisin and golden cheese show a clear class imbalance, eventhough golden cheese had to accumulate her wealth over time, raisin has spent her whole life in danger, fighting just to live and not for luxary, while golden cheese has had ample time to build up what she already have, constantly raising the standard of living for her and her citizens, also having spent much more time around luxary considering she spends so much time disconnected from whats real so she can focus on her idea of perfection instead which is something raisin probaby couldnt even imagine herself doing, much more secure in the fact that she has enough isntead of it all. Golden cheese is much less calculated acting more impulsively, sometimes even gullibly while raisin constantly has her guard up only bejng swayed when she knows shes not facing a threat but still reluctant to comply even so. Infact most of the golden citizens are extremely suave, not very involved in things that dont really involve them while raisin makes sure to poke her beak in every nook and cranny looking for possible dangers, shes a very uptight charcater in a way, which is portrayed as overprotection which is a similarity to cheese but they way she presents this overprotection is very different. Also their reasons for protection differ, while they both care, yes, golden cheese is excplicitly shown to be driven by greed, claiming ownership over her people treating any attack to them as a personal attack towards her while raisin wants to ensure saftey, mostly likely to uphold family values within the village in order to keep their bond stronger.
They have so much in common to relate to i find it hard to believe they couldnt flourish in a relationship togather. In canon these characters easily come to understand eachother, openly talking about themselves in order to form a bond aswell!! Raisin even opens up extremely quickly to golden cheese which is quite out of character for her so to see someone so cautious easily put trust in someone you basically just met is CRAZY, and alao crazy adorable!!!! (I genuinely squealed watching this scene...too cute) so its easy to assume that their understanding of eachother makes it extremely easy for them to work togather despite their contrasting beliefs due to a shared target, their understanding also impling a stronger relationship between the two making extremely easy to imagine them forming a stronger bond if only given the time to interact more. Their difference in veiw points also means they can better combat new situations alongside eachother, easily coming to see different perspectives from someone you trust making it easier for them to act as a unit, also allowing them more oppurtunies to grow alongside eachother. Raisin specifically acts as a really good ancbor for golden cheese (or all the ancients really) as theyre a bit out of touch, raisin could bring more sense to golden cheese helping her with decision making. Their shared experience of loss could also help them with regulating one anothers emotions, giving eachother the chance to openly discuss their trauma, i could also definetly see them actually giving eachither advice, specifically searching for these personally queries to help aid the other when they dont know what would help in that situation, further driving their ambition, additionally helping them find out more about themselves in the process aswell. Im especially fond of this dynamic cause it is filled to the brim with security, the perfect ingredient to a sentimental ship, i dont see any sort of distrust being built or infedility because both characters provide exactly what they need for eachother to grow. Also bonus, theyre birds, so obviously theyre preening eachother just saying, also i coild imagine them bringing eachother lots of shiny objects since they both have a knack for it. Also imagine goldy influencing raisins crows to be more greedy like in the story LOL. So adorbs.
I LOVE THIS SHIP, LOVE LOVE LOVE, im SO SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG. I loved this ship the second i saw it!!!! It made so much sense right off the bat, im surprised more people dont ship it??? Imagine then togather is very euphoric and despite all the procrastinating i did writing and researching this ship was a totally pay off, episode 18 may be my fav ever, the cheese citizens are too good ENOUGH YAP, overall i rate this ship a 10/10
