Oh, yeah! I love Percy Jackson books!! Although I have just read the “original ones”, before the Roman Gods appeared.

I’m mostly inspired in Avatar: The Last Airbender, specifically Katara (I love her), but, yep, there are similarities with Percy Jackson.

In one chapter of ATLA, Katara is able to use “blood-bending”, so I thought about giving Lance that power, but I don’t know if it’ll fit with the story… so I don’t know. Maybe?

Oh! I didn’t know that song! But you’re right, it fits with Lance’s feelings of failure and fears of dissapointing his family. However, even after all the hardships, Lance loves his hard and imperfect life.

Just curious - has anyone done any study on the ‘merchandisation’ of movies and shows? I mean - on how many scenes and/or characters are introduced or scripted and shot a certain way so they can become plush toys, levels in a video game or reaction gifs? Because I have this feeling it’s a real thing that’s happening, but I wouldn’t know where to start to understand if I’m delusional or on to something.

I think is really fun how we have reached full circle with romcoms.

While in the late 90's early 2000s the parents wanted the childrens to stay home and go at community college, and the protagonists wanted to escape and go in some big city college, now the parents wants the childrens to go in big name universities and the protagonists are like not with this economy i want to go to technical schools.
