From "Show Me a Story" compiled and edited by Leonard S. Marcus. "We also wanted to light up a lobby [of the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art] somehow, and so I decided to paint four large panels featuring complementary colors : a red panel next to a green one and a yellow panel next to a blue one. I didn't think of them as paintings but rather more like decorations, lines endpapers in a book. I painted the panels on the floor of my studio on Tyvec, the durable, lightweight material that is used for wrapping buildings under construction. I used janitor's brooms for paintbrushes and did one panel a day, with no plan in mind. All I knew was the color! I had a really good time." - Eric Carle #dailyreading #dailysrawing #ericcarle #everythingisabrush #illustartion #sabinareads https://www.instagram.com/p/Bu3g7vpF8G5/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1nynbinacgcep
