1. Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien - the first fantasy book I've ever read, showed me a whole new world

2. A Liar's Autobiography by Graham Chapman - painfully funny, heartbreakingly honest and it opened my mind a bit more

3. Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett - one of the funniest books I've ever read, I love everything about it

4. Kámen a bolest (Stone and Pain) by Karel Schulz - a novel about Michelangelo Buonarroti, made me admire his work even more than before and I fell in love with Florence even though I've neber been there

5. The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger - what can I say about this book? just read it, it'll change your life

6. Saturnin by Zdeněk Jirotka - a lovelly and funny book about a servant with a great sense of humour, a Czech version of Jeeves, I suppose :-)

7. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley - 100 % agree with everythingispossibleinprague  on this one

8. The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams - 42 ;-)

9. Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman - I totally fell in love with London Below

10. Máj by Karel Hynek Mácha - every pupil in the Czech republic is "forced" to read this one at school and to learn a bit of it by heart but I really love this poem
