About last night... #instapix from the birthday party in #joshuatree . The little girl who took that epic selfie shot i zoomed in on took many of these. Interesting how these feel so damn precious and unique. Even though I have an extraordinary camera that i carry in my pocket, i appreciate the ritual of pushing a heavy button, hearing the gears respond and having a nondescript white card come out and offer itself to reality as a documentarian with whom to enjoy the reveal. it’s kinda like animated gifs too. Those were designed that way because most computers didn’t have frivolous bandwidth to process higher quality streams or video. Now that we have access to hi res video and editing, etc, there’s this pull to go back to simpler tech at least visually. Also, Minecraft.
