Prompt#24 : Standing in line
The sky is dark above the clouds and shadowed the mystery of the night. Laying low against the cold rocks Evilkitten appered over the edge. The trees were in the way of the Garlean Empire and even though it hid her stature it didn’t give her much opportunity to see them coming if they did.
She needed to find a way in as she was tasked with the mission to see if they were planning an assault. There had been sightings of them getting close to the villagers and they felt scared to leave their homes. So they need to check what they were up to before it was too late but they didn’t have the intelligence to break in so they asked Evilkitten if she could help.
So there she was pressed against rock which was beginning to hurt her sides as she hadn’t worked out how to get in yet. She was struggling to reach a plan which would be of low risk and it made her more anxious. She began to tip toe away where she notice a lone guard hiding amongst the trees.
He was sitting there with an exhausted look about him and he was obviously on a small break but he didn’t appear to have anyone around him. So it sudden came to her like a chocobo had hit her. She started to sneak towards him and watched for any twigs on the floor. Slowly she was behind him and she hit him hard with stones.
She quickly and quietly as she could stole his clothing as knew clearly what she had to do. The clothing smelt of Oder from the guard and it felt very loose on Evilkitten but she put the helmet on with certainty. She was going to follow the other guards into the camps and listen to everyone to learn what she can.
She walked slowly to the edge of the trees until she finally saw camp in its entirety and each other guards at their posts. She tried to see if their were any patrols close and as if luck was finally on her side she notice one near the trees. She began to get close and waited for them to begin to march so she could join.
Her heart began to beat fast and her palms began to sweat but she knew what she had to do. She got ready to stand in line behind a guard at the back watching to see how she should mimick the other. Standing in line behind the others she slowly settled into a routine and started to get her listening skills ready to take in the intel. She knew she could do this and she knew this mission would be a success.
She might wanna bite your hand off once a week but she'll melt your heart enough for you to let her take your hand.
Prompt#27 : Foot in Mouth
It was a very unusal day today for Evilkitten, she woke up thinking it would be a normal day where she would either crafting for income or gathering for food. She figured she might be going shopping that evening as she notice the local material seller was selling things for cheap. However, she had received an invitation from her friends at the headquarters as they decided to throw a party with entertainment that evening as it was someone’s Nameday.
So she spent most of the morning getting herself ready with a pink haircut tied up with ribbon and a cute little blue bird earrings. She decided to wear her pink spring dress for the occasion as the sun appeared to turn up in the sky. She the spent some time in the afternoon putting a gift together and decided she would make some delicious warm cakes for her friend.
Just as she was about to leave she planted a sweet kiss onto of Lily and told her to be good as she placed her in front of the fire just in case she was cold. She proceeded out the door and started to strolled past the moonlit rivers of lavender beds. She always loved how the gentle shimmer of lights reflected of the waters and how it scattered amongst the waves. She would often stop for a few moments to embrace the view laid in front of her.
As she came closer to the mansion for her headquarters she could hear some of the music blasting out the windows. She notice that there was quite a few people around and it was playing heavy on her anxiety. She paused for a minute to remember how to handle herself in social events. She had an idea who all was going to attend but it was always a difficulty for her to go yet she did and it was a fact she was proud of.
Looking around she tried to find someone she recognised and they seem to be quite a few faces she didn’t know. In the corner, by the bar, she notice someone finally and she proceeded to join them. Thankfully the Nameday boy was right next to them and she gave the gift to him.
“Hey, Evilkitten, this is my good friend Maka’a and he has decided to join us this evening”, they said as they started to introduce people to her. She notice he had an eternity ring and felt it would a good opener to say hello.
“Hey, Maka’a, where is the lucky partner this evening, I must meet her?” She asked politely.
“Errm…I’m afraid she can’t join us tonight.” He replied.
“Oh…? Better things to do I imagine, it was always rather sudden this party I guess.” She asked in a concern way.
“Well, I’m afraid indefinitely. She was killed last month and I don’t want to remove my eternity ring quite yet.” Evilkitten went bright red with embarrassment and realised the intense situation she was now in. She wanted Eorzea to swallow her whole in that moment as she didn’t mean to put her foot in her month.
Prompt#6 : Identification
Every night, before she slept, Evilkitten would often find herself laying awake thinking about everything. Sometimes it was the days events, sometimes it was things she wishes she could change and sometimes it was about the days ahead. However, every night, she always thought about her family and where she was from.
The first person she always thought about was her father and how he always wanted her to called him Papa. He was so strict about his title that he barely let her know what his real name was until she was much older in her childhood. She finally found out, one day, that his name was Soko’a. She always loved him, he was the one person who inspired her the most. Although he wasn’t home as much as she wanted to, he always had a story to tell when he was home. He always sounded so brave and she wanted to be like him so much.
Next person she thought about was her sister. She was so tall for a Miqo’te, even though Evilkitten was the big sister out of the two, she was so short within the family. She enjoyed that fact as they were growing up as meant she was always good at hide and seek. They were so happy when they were young that they truly thought they would be together forever.
However, it all ended when father died, her sister couldn’t accept Evilkitten wanted to carry on in their father’s legacy. She thought it was far too dangerous. Except her Papa always told her that whatever happens to him and their mother she must never give up on who she is meant to be.
When Papa came home one evening, ten years ago, she could see he was in trouble pain. He never told her what happened but that although the mages in Gridiana did all they could he was still dying. She tried so hard to nurse him and the conjurers were always coming by to keep him from pain. Then one night as she woke from her bed she realised the house was quiet and he was gone. It took her a long time to come to him as she didn’t want to face reality.
Yet one thing inspired her during that time and that she knew he wouldn’t have been with her this long if it wasn’t for the mages. She decided that if she was to truly become an adventurer she would need to learn some skills and this eventually lead her to becoming a white mage.
She only ever saw her sister one more time from that point on and that was when she heard news of her mother. Her mother was so loving, she couldn’t ask for a more better mother. One of the things she remembers the most is her bright blue eyes, they always looked so warm and mesmerising. She wouldn’t be surprised if they were the reason her father loved her mother so much.
When her and her sister grew up and were leaving the family home their mother decided it was time to move on with her own life as she didn’t want to be alone since their father’s passing months prior. Sadly that was the last they saw her with everyone being so busy building their own lives. Yet she disappeared during the calamity and nobody knows what happen to her as no one remembers along with countless others who had either died or disappeared completely. Although she can’t be certain if she was part of it, she knows she hadn’t heard from her since that dreadful time.
She will always remember her mother, Imi, and that her love keeps her warm at night along with her father watching her. She knows she isn’t alone in her life. She always says to herself that if she ever decided to get eternal bonded and have a girl of her own she would name her Imi because of her generous love and warmth.
Prompt#13 : Broken Animal
There she was, in the final battle with her friends. Keeping her aether steady she kept everyone well. The bard to her left was ready to shoot his arrow and the black mage to her right ready to cast fire towards the heavily armoured Gobmachine.
The Goblins had been particularly violent lately and it was Evilkitten and her team’s task to control the situation. They braved through the many obstacles and monsters to this moment. They were beginning to weaken and Gobmachine was still going strong.
The black mage cried that she felt she could summon a mighty meteor. When the Gobmachine stopped moving for a moment we screamed back “NOW!!!!” Within moments the cavern was lit up and huge blast from the sky came upon the machine. It had weaken the Goblins heavily and the tides to victory was now in their favour. Then with the bard’s piercing blow the Gobmachine was in pieces on the floor. The Goblins scampered and disappeared between the cracks in that moment.
The whole group breathed a sign of relief and began to look around to see if there was any loot. Then in the darkest corner of the carven they heard the tiniest of squeaks.
“Squeak squeak!”, she heard. It was small and faint. She tip toe towards the sound with her heart beating heavily and she anxiously thought what it could be. It sounded like it need help and was trapped amongst the rumble in the corner.
“Hello?” She called out and right on que it replied with another quiet squeak. She started to panic a little that the small creature was in a lot of trouble. With haste in her body she began to dig in the rumble. Lifting one stone at a time she could hear the squeak getting louder but still so very faint.
Then with the last stone lifted she notice a very old looking coffer and she could hear the squeaks coming from within. She had hope that she wasn’t too late as she slowly opened it.
Right in the middle of the coffer was a baby Opo-Opo and she fell instantly in love. It was so gorgeous and the large eyes looked directly at her. Yet they were filled with sadness as it tried to stand up. She notice it’s front paw was broken and without hestitation she began to cast cure onto the creature.
Evilkitten notice it didn’t fix the creature completely but it looked bright with aether ready to be nursed back to health. It had obviously been hurt for a long time and with no way out of the coffer it was in desperate need of tend and loving care.
She decided right there and then she would take her home with her. They had finished their quest and as far as they were aware the Goblin threat was under control.
It didn’t take long for the baby Opo-opo to be of complete health and her friends from her adventure often visited to check on the cute little animal.
“What will you name her?”, they asked her one evening.
“That’s easy, Lily. My adorable baby Lily”.
