More yap about my grian headcanons!!!

He was an avian before the watchers took him. Aka he had wings during yhs and evo (and kov but I haven’t watched it yet so subject to change like everything else). HOWEVER because evos whole thing was them going back to earlier versions of the game that didn’t have elytra’s, grian made the personal choice to rarely fly. Just because he thought it would be more fair plus he thought it would be more fun to go through the slow motions with everyone. As an avian he tends to default to flight when he gets excited or feels heightened emotions so he decided to SAFELY bind his wings. He felt it easier to wear regular sweaters with no wing slots so people rarely saw his wings.

Now for the angst because I can’t live without it.

After being taken by the watchers, they changed his wings to fit their standard and his new role as a watcher. These changes included changing the shape size and color (larger, deep purple to the normal eye, void to those who come from the end). By the time he escaped, he couldn’t remember what his wings used to look like nor did he remember the type of avian he was so he just kept changing it. During season 6, he defaulted to light grey, almost seagull like wings because they were easier to maintain glamor on and he was still getting used to hiding them. During season 7, PESKY BIRD so parrot wings. That’s when he really got comfortable with changing and maintaining said changes. Season 8 was moon big but also midnight alley so I like to imagine he had pigeon wings that changed to crow wings towards the end of the season. Season 9 was the rock and its skulk infestedness, the rift, and mumbot from the alt universe where mumbo won, so I like to imagine that the wings from the season where the alt universe happens are the wings grian has (covered in skulk for fun) then when the rift happens, grian is unable to maintain his glamor and his wings become large and void (still only two wings tho because secret not exposed). During season 10 any sort of bird that hangs out by the sea will do but I like to think maybe a pelican or a bird with brown wings (research later).

I will prob talk more about how his friends feel about this later cause this headcanon has layers but I’m tired rn so I’ll be back!! Good night everypony
