*DB DAIMA SPOILERS AHEAD*
Toriyama left many gifts behind for us fans, after his passing. But after watching the last episode of Daima it got me thinking of three specific gifts he left for his characters. They're rather simple but powerful gifts: For Goku- He officially gave him the gift of SSJ4.
For Vegeta- He gave him the gift of SSJ3.
For Piccolo- He gave him the freedom from being burdened with the title 'Demon King' again.
At the end of the credits from almost every episode, there's a shot where Goku looks up at the sky and a bird forms, and flies toward the sky. I heard a rumor that that bird symbolized Toriyama's spirit, so I added an ethereal bird-like looking creature that leaves traces of 'ghost feathers' behind for the characters as a form of blessing or good fortune. All in all, yes this is my one year anniversary tribute to Toriyama-sensei and what he brought me--brought all of us, into our lives. It's amazing how one person can touch so many lives without having to actually meet him, and I believe he's even closer to each of us every time we talk, mention, interact, and even create anything DBZ related. It's like the ending credits from Daima that portrays it best--
I hear it always, your voice in my heart
"You know that we're never alone"
I will always love and miss you, Akira Toriyama. Arigato, Sensei... Akira Toriyama (1955-2024)
