Florida = Flori-DUH

I unfortunately live in the, as one of my former teachers put it sardonically, “Progressive State of Florida", and many out there may not know but here in Miami, the asinine politicians are conspiring to shut down 22 libraries, including my beloved childhood nostalgia West Kendall Regional Library, under the context of “cutting funds" (it will not surprise me that this is also some Republican grand scheme of keeping voters illiterate).

If they succeed, more than 200 city employees will be lay off and thousands will no longer have free access to literature and culture and additional education, especially for those in home-school and who can’t go to school or don’t have Internet at home. But it seems to me, despite many abundantly demonstrating support to keep these libraries open, there’s not a cacophonous public outcry that will rattle those bureaucratic jackasses at city hall.

PLEASE, ANYONE OUT THERE, HELP!!! I starting to lose hope that we can save the libraries, but I’m an obstinate little bookworm and I refuse to believe the “Age of Books" is coming to the end — this came from the turd-inept Mayor of Miami Carlos Gimenez.

I know that we are in the midst of the Digital Age — technology is definitely the future — but this is also the Information Age, and libraries are only more imperative than ever!!
