The sky was a swollen ebony that hinted at rain. A bloat of unseen clouds, evident only by the fact that the stars were concealed. Even beneath the layers of vinyl and linen that concealed his face, Ghostface could smell the earthy scent of petrichor.

He extended a hand out, reaching for the yet-to-fall raindrops. His fingers expanded, flexing, as though he were playing with the darkness itself in the way one might with fog or steam. Toying with the edges to test its reaction. Of course, darkness was stagnant. It did not bend to anyone's will but its own.

"Death is the only god who comes when you call." Ah, there was the truth behind his strange ministrations. The body beneath their feet exhaled its final breath into the midnight as Death bestowed its final kiss. Ghostface was reaching for the remnants of his invisible patron. Prodding the empty air with yearning fingertips in the futile hopes of feeling, if only for a moment, some semblance of Death's existence. A cold whiff of air, a breeze, or perhaps even a visual warping in the darkness. There was nothing perceptible to the human eye, and yet he was not dispirited. No, more than anything he was energized. Ghostface turned his attention to Michael, the grin upon his face palpable even if it was concealed.
