Disastrous Destiny

Olwen had dreamed of this moment for years, wanting nothing more than to finally meet the woman who gave birth to her, but little did she realise the disastrous consequences it would have when they finally came face to face.

As soon as she was free of her cell Olly headed towards the Town Hall, her magic pulling her towards her destiny. She knocked on the door to the Mayor’s office, not sure if the woman would even recognise or remember her. “Is this… are you Regina Mills?”

The blonde was nested on the sofa with a mug of cocoa. The kid was with her parents, so she had the house to herself. Slender fingers reached for the bowl of chocolate drizzled kettlecorn when she heard the door.

Does this town ever sleep? Does this town ever leave me alone?

She nested deeper into her blanket, hoping it was a package or a mistake and they will go away. No such luck. With a groan, Emma rose from her comfortable space and opened the door.

She refrained from crinkling her nose when she opened it and saw Regina.

"Henry's not here."

Roni cashed out the last couple of customers and finally let out a sigh of relief that the night was over. She loved her bar but some nights she pondered hiring a couple more people. She was curious if the detective would actually show but she wasn’t holding her breath.

Roni wasn’t the type to wait for someone. She knew the detective had a hard past from the gossip she would hear, but she would rather know more from Wulver herself. Roni grabbed a towel and started cleaning tables off before she started locking the place up for the night.

She grumbled to herself hearing the door open and turned around seeing Scarlet and raised an eyebrow, “Hello again Detective. Have a seat at the bar and I will be with you in a few.”

Wulver stood at the door for a moment to take in the surprising size of the bar. Did Roni really run this place all by herself? She began to head to a bar stool but stopped half way, . “I… I can help if you want?” She offered. “I took a waitressing job as a teenager, so I know my way around cleaning tables” she gently scratched the back of her head, wondering why she was suddenly so nervous around this woman.

Regina gave a very drunken grin as she looked across the bar at the tall brunette. “Come here Missss Lucas..” Needless to say she had had a bit too many. Regina stood with a small wobble and leaned across the bar and lightly tapped the tip of Ruby’s nose, “Heh..boop..”

Ruby would have cut Regina off hours ago, but unfortunately her date had the ability to sneak to the bar without her realising, only to come back with more drinks. Unlike the mayor, Ruby could handle her alcohol annoyingly well, she was only just beginning to feel the buzz of tipsiness. There were some upsides to the wolf. She helped Regina stand more sturdy, she was about to speak when the older woman hopped her, actually said ‘boop’ and everything, on the nose. Her heart fluttered at the adorableness. “Okay Madame Mayor” she said as she wrapped an arm around her waist, “I think it’s time to get you home.”

The bar owner made her way down to the police station, paper bag in hand. She gave a small smirk sitting the bag on the detective’s desk and crossed her arms over her chest.

“Hello Detective Wulver. Please take this lunch before I ban every cop from my bar if they don’t leave me alone about putting you in a better mood.” Roni raised an eyebrow and studied the young detective. “They’re worried about you and being a bar owner I am apparently the next best thing to a therapist so swing by sometime and have a drink..on me.”

Scarlet had been filling out the usual mundane paperwork when the light thud of the lunch bag roused her from her work.

“Roni, what a… pleasant surprise” she drawled as she rolled her eyes. She was aware that Roni’s was the go-to bar for her colleagues, and for that reason alone is why Detective Wulver hadn’t set foot in the place. However, that doesn’t seem to stop her fellow cops gossiping about her in spirit. She dared a peek inside the bag. “A deli sandwich, you shouldn’t have” she jested. “Seriously, I’m fine… just… not the socialising type.”
