Xen: Oh, that. Sara: Oh yeah. Matt: It is a spectacularly terrifying scene. Xen: Listening to this, it may not seem particularly terrifying. 1: Winter Wind

This is the first part in what may be a series called “Evocative descriptions”

I’ve always loved trying to describe things and set the mood, so thats what I did. It’s just a description. Here you go

Everything looked different in the cold white light of the winter sun.

The brisk air prickled in her chest as she took a deep breath, exhaling rapidly and watching her breath as the wisps billowed around her face for a moment before the wind chased it away.

Her fingers were stiffly curled up inside the deepest part of her pockets, and her nose and cheeks were rapidly transitioning from burning in the cold to a soft numbness.

There was no new snow right now, but the winter wind was stirring up what had already fallen, a million tiny sparkles whirling all around the still world.

The only sound was the soft crunch of her boots grinding against the mixture of salt and gravel coating the narrow sidewalk, with the occasional squish of wet slush as she missed her step, slipping out into the street.

She didn't know why she was out here.
