🌸TERFs/ace and aro exclusionists/MAPs don't interact thanks🌸 Black lives matter, free Palestine.🍉 THIS BLOG CONTAINS NSFW CONTENT, not all of it is tagged! Marcy/Marsh, white, he/she/they. I’m 26 years old and happily taken🥰 My icon was made by aceuserboxes (they're deactivated now) and my header is made by KirstyCarter on deviantart. Also Myqueenmarceline on Ao3!
Hi there! My name's Marsh/Marcy and I'm 26. My pronouns are he (preferred)/she/they. I'm genderfluid and experimenting with them, so that list may change. I'm sapphic and don't really mind what else you want to call me. I'm also Canadian🇨🇦 and have a lovely fiancée I talk to in tags sometimes❤️
My tumblr has some NSFW content that is not all tagged and some politics. If either of those will be an issue feel free to just block. I'm not very interested in debating or arguing. A general summary is: I'm a leftist, I'm queer, and I believe in human rights and better social support systems for everyone. Trans rights are essential to fight for, especially those of trans women (and yes, transmisogyny is real!). We can (and should) free Palestine without being antisemitic.
I've fallen out of the habit of tagging reblogs, but if you need me to start doing so for something specific, please feel free to let me know!
I go by the same name on Ao3, feel free to go find all of my fanfic there, though it's also under the "my writing" tag along with original works :)
Lots of rambling about me and my personal interests under the cut. I hope you have fun scrolling my blog!😊
I love learning about many things in life, including literature, media studies, history, social science, psychology, biology, and geology. There isn't really a rhyme or reason to this blog, I'm just reblogging stuff I like. I especially love dinosaurs (especially sauropods), insects (especially beetles and pill bugs), dogs (especially Huskies, Borzoi, and Labs), reptiles (especially lizards and snakes), birds (especially chickens, cardinals, and jays), and minerals (quartz, amethyst, and turquoise).
I also love science-fiction, fantasy, and horror. I am fascinated by how people develop fictional worlds and mythos, and how we can read them through different critical lenses. It would take too long to list out my favourite authors, but the best book I've read this year is High Times in the Low Parliament by Kelly Robson.
My main fandoms are Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, The Owl House, Percy Jackson, Welcome to Night Vale, Person of Interest, the Alien movies, Otherside Picnic, Monstress (the comic), Mushishi, Dinosaur Sanctuary (please talk to me about this manga!!), and the Companion movie (2025)
If you're interested in my own tags, I mainly use #my writing and #my stuff to post stories. I use #ask to respond to asks, feel free to chat about anything! My face is under #my selfies and #my face, but I don't post those very often anymore.
I also create moodboards over @lgbtquiap-moodboards. I'm a bit behind but if you want to go check it out and send in any requests, feel free to do so!
the way anti-trans people speak about us, I’ve noticed that they don’t actually treat trans men and trans women that differently. They simply focus their energy on different age groups.
When trans men are discussed, we are only children. Teenage/tween trans men are the main focus of transandrophobia from these groups, because we fit the agenda of “vulnerable delicate women” who are harder to view as men or people with agency. We are less likely to pass and more likely to have mental health issues, and therefore are easier to pass off as defective and hysterical girls.
meanwhile, trans women are almost exclusively framed as middle-aged or older. This allows them to be viewed as more mature and cunning compared to younger people. In addition, older women are less likely to fit traditional beauty standards, so this gives them an easier time making a “gross ugly predator” argument.
however, when forced to acknowledge trans people of other age groups, they pretty much stick to the same playbook. Older trans men are no longer treated as pitiable women, but as some sort of gross third gender, similar to trans women. They are considered part of the ring of predators trying to steal your children. And, importantly, are considered ugly. Transitioned trans men are not seen as attractive to “normal” men or women.
conversely, young trans women are treated very similar to young trans men. The “they’re trying to cut off your son’s dick” line is well-used. And they are not treated as a weird third gender like adult trans people, and rather are categorized as vulnerable boys being preyed upon by the “actual villains”, adult trans women.
the purpose of this post is to point out that neither trans men or women are privileged for the way that we’re treated. Adult trans men experience very similar treatment as adult trans women, and vice versa. Transphobes do not want you to know that. They want you to think their agenda is to protect trans men and ostracize trans women, because that makes them seem less hateful. But their actual treatment of us contradicts that.
This is definitely the case. If you actually listen to the hard bigots talk, actually listen to what they are saying, they hate, they hate so fully and completely. When it comes to legislation they don't forget about any one of us. They know we all exist and want us all gone.
I've listened to too much info on the far right, from Mumsnet terfs, to Alex Jones and Joe Rogan, to believe any of us are tolerated. That's just not how hate goes. They come up with these narratives to try and split us apart, to make us weaker.
I want to see more polyamory pride this pride month i'm serious. Stop being weird about people with multiple partners polyamory is awesome and beautiful and queer
The thing about modern superhero comic liberalism is that the general political makeup of a big two superhero writer is a liberal but like, in the 80s they were willing to Show Who The President Was. So when Reagan was doing things they didn't agree with, they would write him in their comics doing the things they didn't agree with. But ever since 2016 the superhero world has had an Unknown Other President because now they are tangibly unwilling to show political figures as they actually exist whereas before there were less issues. And I do think being part of multimedia empires like Disney and Warner Bros is a big part of that but it is really notable comparing how big two comics used to be willing to Show Who The President Is and now they aren't.
the fact that "eco" and "ethical" are two separate concerns in the global north, and that "eco" is a much more popular concern, with many "eco" products being made in actual sweatshops, is a big part of why i am The Joker
if you think this is an exaggeration or splitting hairs where it doesn't matter:
i used to work at a Local Organic Produce store that's popular with the lefties in my city who are interested in food justice. i quit for a lot of reasons, mostly the boss, but something i will always remember is one of our suppliers coming in to drop off produce, being told her check wasn't ready, and her laughing and responding it didn't matter -- even a low bank account was more than enough to pay the migrants who picked her produce. i am not filling in any blanks here. she said this.
after quitting, this was a common story i told people about my time there. some then became annoyed at me, acting like i was a wokescold trying to undermine the store's "eco" mission with unrelated "ethical" concerns. but, like -- if food justice isn't for the people making food, who the fuck is it for?
like, don't get me wrong. my contention here is that the things go hand in hand, and that something which is unethical isn't actually eco. after all, humans are a part of the fucking ecosystem, and if a product can only be made by unsustainably exploiting humans, then it's unsustainable. doesn't matter which chemicals were used in making it, or whether or not animals were factory farmed.
they *cannot* be separated. a product cannot be either eco or ethical — it must be both. a product that is made through human suffering cannot be eco for the reasons you said; a product that causes human suffering by contributing to the destruction of the ecosystem cannot be ethical. it must be both and we must insist on both
I'm just going to say it - body hair (and beauty standards in general) is truly one of the final frontiers of women's issues in the West. Too many women just love their gilded cage too much. It shocks me how virulently women will defend it. I barely open my mouth and the "well I like how it feels. it just makes me feel cleaner. sensory issues. I do it for me. feminism is about choosing (to conform)." brigade come rushing in by the dozens.
Well I don't like how it feels. I don't feel cleaner without body hair. I don't prefer not having body hair. But who will advocate for women like me, but me? For women who do like hair removal, they are advocated for every time they step out of the house and see 99% of the female population also conforming to that standard, or when they watch a movie and see all the shaved actresses, or view an advertisment, or open a magazine, or watch a music video, or scroll through social media, or walk down the streets without receiving insults and glares for having a completely normal bodily feature.
You genuinely can't even point out that hairlessness is a man-made standard without women losing their shit and acting like they are totally immune to propaganda they've been exposed to from birth. I'm so tired.
