If it works intellectually...
But doesn’t work EMOTIONALLY, then it doesn’t work at all.
If you have to explain to someone what makes a moment great, then it’s falling short. Moments should evoke an emotion that doesn’t need explaining.

Martin Scorsese on Story vs. Plot
While I am obviously not going to disagree with Martin Scorsese, I would like to get more specific than he does. It's about the emotion. That could summarize it all up. Emotion.
It's not about the plot. It's about the emotional reaction to the plot.
Plot is the most overrated aspect of storytelling and yet it is the predominant thing on the mind of the new screenwriter.
To me, the movies are a machine that generates empathy.
Roger Ebert
Good structure is not the goal in itself. It is a means to an end. Your goal always remains dramatic momentum and emotional resonance. Your story structure is simply one of the ways you achieve that.
Song Of The Week: Royksopp - What Else Is There Seeing as how I was woken up by a violent jolt this morning! I'd like to share a song that absolutely shook me to the core when I first heard it. What is it about this song that stirs something inside of me? When she says "We cover distance, but not together" it strikes me deep down inside, I cannot get enough of this song. Hope you enjoy!
