Hey there! Im a college freshman trying to plan out the rest of my college career and I'm having trouble finding resources outside of just planning out classes. What aspects should I be thinking of when I plan out my next few years of college?
Well the way my friend did it was excellent actually.
They actually looked up job descriptions in the field they wanted to work in
Checked what skills those jobs required
Took on electives which covered those skills
Double checked all the prerequisites for their cores lined up properly in the early years
I am not American though and appreciate that as a college freshman you spend a few years doing a generalist course prior to doing a degree specialising in sometimes. But the principle should still apply because at the end of the day you want a job, so the classes you take should echo the job skills you want.
