Samhain Spread 2016

(Was so tempted to not post this ‘til next Halloween ‘cos I just got SO behind and stuff, but the white wine told me to...)

Okay, so you’ve more than likely seen this spread layout elsewhere - above the ‘horizon’ of smoky quartz we have the Upper World and the Lower World is below the ‘horizon’. Cards 1, 3 and 5 are above and 2, 4 and 6 are below.:

1. Life - What to Embrace. Death, embrace Death??? Yikes!!! Well, suppose this means that I must accept that some part of my life is over and that I need to be strong to exorcise and get rid of whatever it is even though it may be a tough thing to do.

2. Death - What to let go of. Hanged Man. Well now, a sacrifice must be made, mustn’t it? I need to stop procrastinating, hanging around even (sorry), and get on with it in order to move on from whatever. Time for action!

3. My Courage. Justice. Nice one. So when whatever that needs to be let go of is gone, it is definitely the right thing to do. The balanced thing. This is good, no?! Honestly and fairness will prevail and karma will do its job.

4. My Fears. Five of Swords - violence, abuse are some keywords here. I don’t go around committing violent acts or abusing people, but sometimes I do have violent thoughts (well, not nice thoughts) about one or two people and this is starting to tie together. There is one particular person out there who seems to be constantly hurting people I care about, because things aren’t going as she wants them to. She has been a totally selfish, irresponsible and nasty pain in the ass for quite a few years and each time I decide to let all of this angst go, she does or says something that raises the hackles. Maybe it’s my anger and thoughts of violence towards her that need to die a quick death. Oh I wish the Strength card had appeared...

5. To Celebrate. King of Pentacles. Now, here is the Earth Father - generous to a fault, but no fool. Mature, wise, steady, appreciates what he has, and what he has has been earned, so he’s not going to piss it away by being foolish, is he? Nope. And that could be the lesson here. Celebrate what you have because, in all honesty, you are SO rich having a wonderful man, children, family, friends, home, job, etc. This is what’s important, not some person that just tries to poison everything. Use the King’s courage to let go of the bitterness and hurt and embrace all the wonderful riches you have.

6.To Contemplate. Eight of Cups. Walk away. This situation no longer serves you - it never did, truth be told. Get life into its proper perspective and stop dwelling on this stupid fixation, whether it be some kind of revenge or whatever scenario could pop into my head.  Got to move on, get my life and head space back, and enjoy my wonderful life
