Which is funny because as people have mentioned one of the reasons Jim is like that is because he did not have a LP or a Gosalyn supporting him. But Scrooge does, and its ultimately them who helps him get out. Even in the more recent episodes Scrooge himself says that he needs his family to keep him grounded.

Just a note I wanna say! In one of my classes recently we’ve been discussing how language and the way you use it affects your view of something or someone. If you call someone ugly you and others around you will start to view that person as ugly. It’s a pretty standard tactic used to alienate people and it can happen in the sims. If you erase the diversity in your game, you will start to reflect that behavior onto others and real life poc and minorities. I don’t honk I worded this right? kajsks

I imagine they'd be much bigger than human babies too, so they'd be quite a struggle for his mate, especially if there was more than one - giving him that much more reason to be incredibly protective and want to look after them every waking moment! But being excited and affectionate about it all the same, even if he was worried.
