Hey!! When should we create a study guide for each chapter is it when we have a big test coming up (i.e. while revision for the final exam) or while we are taking small tests in that chapter?
hi! i think it's always good to have a study guide, no matter how extensive the exam you're taking is - if you have smaller tests throughout the semester and then a final exam on the same topics, having a guide you've already made for the tests can be soo helpful and can serve as a basis for your final exam study guide :) i would definitely recommend making a guide for the small tests and you can improve it after you've had those to make the *ultimate* final exam guide that's fitted to your exact needs (you'll have a better idea of which concepts you're already quite familiar with, which ones will take up more time to master etc.) - of course this depends on the class and also if you have the time to make multiple guides;
i’d say my most important tip regarding exam guides is that extra time can be a wonderful buffer against unnecessary anxiety! always assign more time for a certain topic/subchapter than you think you need bc there’s always something that could come up - either you’ll procrastinate more than you think, a topic could be harder to learn than you’d anticipated,... allotting some extra time to each section will allow you to keep control over your stress levels in case you fall behind schedule for a bit :)
* i personally only make study guides for finals, but that's just because it makes the most sense with our syllabus in particular you can check out this post by @thestudyingapollo for tips on how to make a study guide!
