#6 Days to Finals 🌔
Wtf?! 6 Days? How?!
I’d be relieved to be honest but since I’ve started “revising” OBG, it feels like a tiresome process. I want to freeze time.
Woke up at 5:30am today :)
I wrote down my record submission commitment in my BuJo. Now I’ll prioritise it because it has a deadline.
I wrote down my record submission commitment in my BuJo. Now I’ll prioritise it because it has a deadline.
Hoping for the best today!
Given the exams, I made the simplest possible BuJo spread for March. Had that M lying around from an old cookie box. Best out of waste at its peak efficiency xD
I don’t know where to begin about this day. The plan was OBG which I did, to some extent, and then I entered the Orthopaedics flow and got some confidence in that subject. I’ve made a list of remaining topics; planning to cover them by tomorrow :)
This song took me back 10 years and filled me with vigour today. That story is for another day ;)
***
Today while walking at sunset, I bumped into a senior who gave me a life altering realisation- I have two days to revise for the OBG exam and literally half a day to revise for Surgery Paper 2, which, even though my strongest, is probably the HEFTIEST of them all. I’ve been allocating my time all wrong!
Yet, I opened my surgery textbook at night but felt so overwhelmed that in a short while, I gave up. I can say that I retained what I read, but I was so confused in where to begin and how to and what not to that I just started feeling scared. I hopped onto my phone to talk it out with friends but none was available, so this happened-
I chose to be my own best friend.
I kept my phone aside, changed into night clothes, dimmed the lights, did skin care and sat down in a comfortable spot with a candle and music and work to do. And I did that. I did that in peace, happiness and calm.
I have a plan for bypassing the fear and anxiety. Will put it into action tomorrow :)
Oh and I learnt a new song on my uke you and my best friend got accepted in Stanford University!!!! 🎉
Harry Styles, can’t get you out of my head.
Disclaimer: I am by no means an expert on physics, but I took the exam last year and scored a 5, so maybe some of my tips might help! Studying works differently for everyone, but this is how I personally studied for the exam.
Prerequisite - an AP Physics class is strongly recommended as this is the hardest AP test. If you are self-studying, you must put in a lot of effort!
Materials Needed:
test prep book / online test material
3+ practice tests
calculator
AP prep books are seriously life savers. I prefer the Princeton Review (for all my AP tests) because of its thoroughness, difficult practice problems, and relative accuracy (the tests/problems are similar to the actual AP test). However, some of the practice problems might have errors in the solution so look out for that. Barron’s is an alternative book that many test takers use.
Princeton Review 2019 Premium
Princeton Review 2019 Regular
Princeton Review 2018 Premium (the one I used)
Princeton Review 2018 Regular
If test books are too pricey, you can also try a 2017 version, or try finding one in the library! Additionally, Khan Academy has good online prep, and you’ll just need to download some practice tests.
Start off with a diagnostic test, which should be in the beginning of the test prep book. This should give you a good idea of what score you should aim for, how much you should study, and what areas you are the weakest in. Look at the score range that you get (1, 2, 3, 4, or 5) and your goal for the actual AP test should be 1-2 scores higher than this.
Highlight which topics you need to cover the most! Spend most time on these subjects.
You should know by now which subjects you need the most work on. In the table of contents, the review book should have a list of topics that are covered on the AP exam. The Princeton Review covers these topics:
Vectors
Kinematics
Newton’s Laws
Work, Energy, and Power
Linear Momentum
Uniform Circular Motion, Newton’s Law of Gravitation, and Rotational Motion
Oscillations
Waves
Electric Forces and fields
Direct Current Circuits
First, ask yourself, how many days/weeks do I have until the exam? (You should start probably during spring break or the second week of April) Second, how many exams am I taking?
Let’s say that you have exactly four weeks until your exam. You begin studying on 4/9/2019 and your exam date is 5/7/2019. You have two other tests that you will take--AP US History and AP Lang.
1) Prioritize your tests. Look at the test dates. AP Physics is on Tuesday 5/7/2019, AP US History is on friday 5/10/19, and AP Lang is on Wednesday 5/15/2019. In my case, AP US History and AP Physics are equally high priority. AP Lang is easy for me, and I have an entire weekend to study beforehand, so I won’t study for that until after the AP US History test.
2) Look at your calendar. On what days do you have time to study (2+ hours of time)? Circle those dates. You should spend half of those dates on AP Physics, and the other half on AP US History. Because you have 10 subjects of AP Physics to cover, reserve 13 of those days to study for AP Physics (10 days reviewing subjects, 3 days review in general). After all, you do have three extra days to study for AP US History.
3) Mark on your calendar what days you will study each subject. For example:
4) Review those chapters. Make sure to do the practice problems at the end of each chapter as well. Additionally, you should have taken notes during the school year for those subjects. If there are any missing holes in those notes, use the prep book to fill in the missing information.
You should take at least three practice tests:
Your diagnostic test
A test in the middle of review
A test after you have finished reviewing the prep book
You can get these practice tests either from your prep book, or you can take them from online (collegeboard should have some, just google).
My school also offered study sessions so during the weekends where we took practice tests, which I recommend.
A few days before the exam
1) Take that practice test after you finished reviewing the prep book.
2) Make a study guide
Not many people do this. It was helpful for me, but if you have different ways of studying, then you do you!
What I did was compile every single formula / equation / broader concepts / rules / Newton’s Laws, etc on a poster paper/very large piece of paper. This was far more comprehensive and elaborate than the equation sheet provided by the test. This served as another way to refresh concepts and embed information into my head.
Or, you can simply use the notes that you took during the test!
The day before
Try not to cram too much information. You should do either a short answer practice section, or a multiple choice practice section--whichever you feel you need the most work on. Then, read over your notes/your compiled study guide.
Go to sleep early!
The day of
Bring all necessary materials such as your study ID, a snack, water bottle, pencils/pens, etc.
In the morning, skim over the compiled study guide (not your full notebook) one more time, and only slow down if you are unfamiliar with a concept. If not, don’t study anymore after that!
prepping for uni and i'm in year 1 lwk scared 🥺🥺 any advices?? 🥺🥺
hoi hoi 👀
uni prep sucks 😭 no matter how much you do, you're still gonna feel like something is missing till the very last minute
i remember how traumatising first year uni proff exams were 😭
(when are yours starting btw?)
that being said, here's some advice for you that I wished I knew before:
1. do the basics. they are never, NEVER gonna ask sm hyperspecific topic from the corner of the textbook
2. 99% of questions are gonna be from bhalani/list of important topics that you have (the 1% that you think came out of bhalani? turns out that, too, was in there, hidden, waiting)
3. PYQs!! I swear this saved my biochemistry. paper setters are lazy and WILL repeat questions so plsplspls go through the pyqs
4. sleep. do not think u can power through it with coffee or energy drinks or sheer willpower. sleep. or you will somehow fall asleep in physio 2 paper like I did and be unable to finish the said paper
5. discuss! in the last minute, while you're waiting in line entering the exam hall- discuss as much as you can. one of my roommates predicted the laq in almost each paper and we had discussed it JUST before entering.
6. write more than the question asks for (follow this one only if u have the time for it in the paper ofc) but like, it genuinely boosts your marks somehow, making the examiner feel that you've written stuff even in the questions you haven't
7. FOOD. pls eat and drink enough water and get enough sleep both during the prepratory leave and during the exam days. this is not a time u wanna fall sick.
8. fear is good. well sometimes. it does force you into studying. but its important to not let it overpower you. use the fear to catapult yourself ahead (I started and completed physio cns in 1 day a week before ut started cuz my roommates scared me by repeatedly telling me how important it was, which it was)
9. there are some topics you know are never gonna fit in your brain. ignore those and build stronger concepts in other topics so u can skip that question if it comes in the optional questions section. now here ofc this shouldn't be a potential laq but like, for me I could never never memorise those brain section drawings in anatomy through cortex medulla whatever so I just and if I had spent time on that then I wouldn't have been able to study the stuff that I actually wrote in the exam.
10. you know your brain. this isn't the time to change the way you study because your friends are influencing you saying this method is better or whatever. if you study better by writing/reading/discussing do it. do it your way. that's the best way.
lastly, uni exams feel like a big deal but honestly, it's just another exam. it will come, you'll do the best you can, and it will go, and the day it ends, you're gonna laugh at yourself from 15 days ago wondering why you were even scared to begin with 🫂
all the best!!

Time watch and ward is the typotelegraphy to success especially herein antagonistic exams. Amidst IBPS PO scheduled for the next month, there is hardly any time left for preparation. In this packing it is very important to be imminent efficiently the little time handy. <\p>

Do not serenade the same regime every sunbreak. Representation the topics and timings in order to avoid it from appearing take to mundane plan. <\p>
Plan Roughly Pressure a Study Calendar from IBPS Polyhistor exam. Write schedules way in a tabular format by means of Task\Topic, Someday, and Number of hours. A sample table is given below. Roll into one estimable dates like, recordation, mock tests, call letter download etc. Weekly calendars are the most effective. <\p>
Subject Chare\Topic Turn of work Number referring to hours English Conceptualization 10 AM - 12 PM 2<\p>
The plan towards prepare because IBPS written 2014 must be in existence implementable, for example, you can't assign 5 hours of study for a single excuse besides a break. Instead, divide 5 hours into 2 slots each allotted over against different subjects despite a break of 10-15 minutes for particular.<\p>
Follow Your Plan The main observation of creating a Study plan is to follow it. Implementation of the plan is most important to succeed avant-garde IBPS Store clerk exam. Exclude external disturbances and pressurizing yourself. Remember that goals can odd be achieved if you respect deadlines. Set reverse priorities to achieve the exact goals.<\p>
Assess your Plan Once you start following your plan, you can by far identify the pitfalls. Merely maid as long as at littlest a week before you measure its effectiveness. This time allows you to calm down the in its infancy hiccups and settle in the hourly denouement. Ask yourself the questions like - Are daily targets matter met? Is there an conditioning in the productive electromyography hours? Make small adjustments to your plan for this cause. Some multitude suggest starting off an exam on a confident note in attempting Render, Storage unit Science and General Diligence first, followed thanks to Numerative Aptitude and Reasoning. Instant others argue that teaming the height strenuous sections together would reduce your mindless strength and concentration levels. So based on your skills and wherewith, create a personal plan on how toward attempt the various sections in IBPS examen 2014. Allocate Times Not all sections lay hands on the same interval. Hence, furnish time seeing that each section as well as the time required on route to mark the questions. Identifying the difficult aka time-consuming questions helps you en route to nimbly decide whether to attempt them bar not. Vice-versa, spotting easy questions can considerably reduce to elements the time exhausted on that question. Along, assign time exactly for last minute revision. <\p>
Keep back-up Plan ready Things always do not go as planned way in IBPS Clerk exam. In sheeting self cross the time allotted for a particular field army, be ready to strings it coupled with a different plan. It powder room be met with anything from attempting incompletely the easy questions from that section in transit to cut-short the time from other sections. But keep the sub dream up as practical and effective as the actual plan. Apogee the best for IBPS exam 2014 and SBI Associate Go for broke exam!<\p>
Exam Study Tracker Printable
Hey everyone! Inspired by people like @theorganisedstudent, I have created my own exam study tracker printable that I have personally found to be extremely helpful.
Here’s what it looks like:
Two full pages of this! And you can fill it out any way you’d like. I use this to track concepts and make sure I thoroughly review each of them. I study by...
(1) compiling my notes on that concept, (2) reviewing/rewriting those notes, (3) doing relevant practice problems or testing myself with flashcards, (4) reviewing/rewriting again, and (5) practicing again.
How to Use
I filled my “concept #” out according to our textbook’s chapter numbers and sections, and planned out what dates I was going to complete each task ahead of time. If you’d prefer, you can also just check off each box as you go along, asho shown in the 2nd row.

okay new plan, i have to spend at least 40 minutes a day, in the days leading up to media exam on friday, reviewing my biology stuff and hope my brain power kicks in and remembers it.
