What’s with Rachel’s stinkface on this cover? Is she jealous of Kurt’s sexiness or his triumph? Hey Rachel it’s ok for other people to be sexy sometimes. You’re not the only one who gets to be sexy. Frustratingly, this dynamic is not actually explored in this comic. (Excalibur #16 – Dec 1989)
Man, I don’t know. Excalibur’s on this weird planet, with this big Watchmen plant monster thing, and Kurt throws Rachel into it or something, and then the Phoenix blows it up. And there’s this hooded person telling the story, who I think might be Kitty or someone else we are unexpectedly familiar with. (Excalibur #16 – Dec 1989)
It’s been since Nightcrawler’s mini-series adventures since we’ve seen him do any swashbuckling or damsel saving, and with Claremont writing this series it was only a matter of time. But hey, check out this chick he’s saving here.
“…a twisted, treacherous soul, masked by the prettiest of faces.” Hey look Tomi Lahren’s in a comic book! (Excalibur #16 – Dec 1989)
Kitty kills the shit out of this villain, by stabbing her in the motherfucking BACK, proving once again that the X-Men are a bunch of stone cold killers who should not be fucked with. Damn. (Excalibur #16 – Dec 1989)
