The ball au

N/A: Another of Danny´s panels inspired me again, this time, Kymri does show up and yep.

The ball is a celebration, once the conflict of Prince William and his betrayal is resolved, a celebration is in order and everyone is dress accordingly. And for once, nothing too terrible happened but the night is young.

Meggan and Brian take the first dance after meeting Prince Charles and Princess Diana, in private, Meggan told Brian that she does not like Prince Charles all that much and Brian agrees.

"She could get someone better" Brian suggests with a ghost of a smile that Meggan can see behind his words easily.

"Brian? Do you want to tell me something?" she asked firmly looking at his eyes and the man now is afraid and unsure of himself.

"Are ...you happy with me?" Brian asked in a soft tone and looks at Kurt who is there talking with the only god knows who at this point. Meggan is bemused with this and stomp on his feet to make her point.

"How many times we will have this talk? Brian, I love you, you´re not perfect and neither I´m...I´d not want perfection...I want companionship and that is something we have. I want you and always will want you"

"Sorry, I guess I´m still a bit insecure" the man offers this as an explanation.

"Silly man, stop being so silly" Meggan speaks fondly now with glee in her eyes.

"No, sorry, I guess I´m your silly man, that is unnegotiable" and they smile together. Kurt arrives and asked if he could dance with Meggan.

"No, thank you, Kurt, I promised Aliaster the next dance," Meggan said politely and Alaister is clueless but not enough to not notice what is going on.

Brian is amused. And asks Rachel if she wants to dance, the woman is wearing leather even on such occasion and she shurgs. Kurt is left alone.

Kitty Pryde is walking among the sea of people and wondering if she should ask someone to dance or not, she saw Brian and Rachel dancing and when they stop, Brian asks for her to dance, which, did make Kitty feel better with herself.

Meggan is dancing with another person as Kurt is alone. The elf is not getting the picture and when he sees a pretty blue lady in the next to him, Kurt decides to ask her to dance, only stopping when he realizes who she is.

Kymri is bemused. "Hello, manslut, I see you haven´t changed a bit," she said unnerved and stepping away from him.

Kurt clears his throat and said he wanted to dance and nothing more. Kymri is having none of that.

"There´s a really pretty woman who was all alone wanting to dance with someone and you wanted to be a dick and ask for a woman who already has a boyfriend," Kymri said in an acid tone. "sleeping with evil dictatorships is not enough for you?"

"Hey, I said I was sorry"

"And I said I didn´t accept your apologies," Kymri said and soon Brian is back dancing with Meggan, Rachel did dance with Kitty and now is dancing with another lady and now, only now, Kitty is alone." wanna advise? stop thinking with your lower head, Kurt, you may be happier if you do that...you´ll be lonely and miserable and no one wants to talk with a man that loves to reminisce the past but can´t look for his present" Kymri said and then she goes to Kitty.

The two woman talk in a friendly gesture, surprising Kurt, and Kymri asks Kitty to dance and Kitty agrees. Kurt is alone again.

The two didn´t stop dancing, only did so, when the party is over. Rachel get the number of the woman that was dancing with her, Meggan and Brian are still strong, Aleister is talking with his sister via the phone and Kitty is excited about meeting Kymri. Only Kurt is silent.

No one wanted to dance with him.

And Kurt has no one.

Alaister made an innocent comment that really strikes into Kurt´s core. "I´m surprised Kymri danced with you, Kitty, I was sure he would ask you to dance, instead he was just standing there and looking upset...you don´t know how to dance, Kurt? Kitty could have helped you with that...she even help me and I´m a terrible dancer"

The trip back home is silent as Kurt looks at Kitty who is really sad with him, for some reason, that really hurts. She looks away from him and starts talking about Kymri and again, this really hurt.

It’s been since Nightcrawler’s mini-series adventures since we’ve seen him do any swashbuckling or damsel saving, and with Claremont writing this series it was only a matter of time. But hey, check out this chick he’s saving here.

Kitty kills the shit out of this villain, by stabbing her in the motherfucking BACK, proving once again that the X-Men are a bunch of stone cold killers who should not be fucked with. Damn. (Excalibur #16 – Dec 1989)

I’m not even going to bother doing any other posts from this comic, because this INCREDIBLY lazy conclusion lies at the end of it. Right before this, almost everyone is killed by some stupid no-name assassin, and then Kitty just tells us “well Phoenix brought us all back to life and then we all went to the greatest party in the history of the universe. Happy ending!” God damn it. This Cross Time Caper is going absolutely nowhere, and it reminds me a lot of Claremont’s later work on X-Men in the mid 2000s. There seems to be no grand story arc he’s working toward here, there are no memorable characters introduced, and everyone else just seems to be going through the motions. Talk about phoning it in. There is this weird bit at the very end here, where Excalibur almost encounters Professor X and the Starjammers.

This same sort of thing happened at the end of X-Factor’s recent space adventure, where they narrowly missed meeting up with the Professor. I wonder why they keep teasing this. And I wonder why Charles isn’t sick anymore. (Excalibur #17 – Dec 1989)

N/A: the blue lady, Kymri, will be used here. I have no idea who she is or anything like that so she is almost an OC here. Oh, references to snow White dark origins.

Kurt Wagner is reading a book and if people were fooled enough to come closer, they would almost think he is a scholar or a higher priest. The serenity in his face does not translate to the book of dark spells the man is reading so peacefully. One of his many bamfs shows up gaining his attention.

“What do you have for me?” the bamf point a new painting in the room that another bamf brought, is the portrayer of Queen Elvira. The woman is vain as the sin allows.

Kurt would ask what this mean when he remembers the legends of Queen Elivra and a smile plays on his lips.

“Ah, you two are the best” the bamfs nods as if they didn´t already know about that.___________________________Kurt takes the case to Excalibur that did take matters seriously. A crazy queen that likes to eat and drink the remains of little girls won´t have anyone crying in her tombstone.

One swift investigation proves the rumours to be true.

“What we do?” Rachel asked as Queen´s shield is stronger and even if they can pass, the woman is royalty they need evidence before anything. Kitty far to quite told them she can make a true pie and make the woman spill the beans.

“I´ll need help and I think Kurt Wagner can help me,” Kitty said and Kurt has the right mind to not smile in triumph. Not even when Kitty takes his hand and drags him away with her________________________How to convince an evil Queen to eat a pie? Well, Brian, the stoic prove to be the right decoy as the woman take the slice of the pie as her new assistant, Kymri(Brian rubs his eyes several times to make sure she is really is not Kurt in disguise) who didn´t want the pie much less the stoic man that keep looking at her funny.

Once the slice is over, the Queen starts to cough and then reveal all her secrets much to Brian´s disgust and satisfaction.____________________Kymri always knew her new boss is a cruel woman, however, she knew that if she worked with powerful and evil witches there´s the chance of seeing him again. Their encounter was brief but it was beautiful as Kymri sure knows her beloved must be occupied with his evil plans to care for her.

Once he found out about Kymri helping Queen Elvira Kurt will ask her to marry and they will have several kids.___________________________The Queen once stopped telling the true start to vomit blood as if wanting to repel all the kids she did eat, in the end, her life was taken in the most gruesome way as the Queen did with the kids.

Kurt did show up to see Elvira´s last minutes on Earth( a thorn on his shoes for too long) and didn´t notice the blue lady who is waving at him with a maniacal smile on her face.

“Katzchen, what you did was amazing”

“I like that you didn´t tell it was beautiful” she jokes and Kurt whispers in her ear that what truly happen with Elvira will be their secret as Brian “confirm” her death as being an accident(no one wants to investigate, not even Meggan, and the case was closed with many of her accomplices were arrested)

Kitty then proceeds to talk about Snow White(“that tale always creep me out”) and Kymri looks at Kurt as how he looks so lovingly at Kitty.

“He always used to look at me that way.” Kymri is arrested as well, but, nothing more matters as Kurt will not ask for her hand. There will be no marriage.

Don't get me wrong, your idea that "Kymri is an alternate Kurtty Pryde" works totally fine but this personally makes me ship Kurtty less

Because it means that the one thing preventing Nightcrawler from being with Kitty in 616 after she became an adult is that she isn't a blue three fingered and golden eyed woman

Just like how he could only be enamored by Meggan when she was a blue woman

Well, this is awkward. I know Excalibur happened before the parentage reveal but still.

As someone who does ship Kurtty I totally get what you mean but let's be realistic here, we can't ship our best girl Kitty with this Kurt ever, in fact no one should be shipped with him. Period!

We do have aus to explore as well Evo. Krakoa killed Kurt in ways I never thought as possible. Maybe it would have been better left Kurt dead.

Also Excalibur Kurt was the villain in Kymri's story and the fact no one realizes that or talk about it is a disservice for Kurt and Kymri.

The fact in an au those two stay together, a blue woman, a blue KITTY, is really Sus. Yes, she is not raven but ...it's odd.

Odder as she has no reason to marry him or even love him.

Marvel throw some ships and expect no one makes questions.
