robert + dreams was the request: post-inception, robert eventually comes to the conclusion that an idea was planted in his mind, since 1) he obviously woke up, and 2) he knew his father would never say disappointed that you tried — because prior to his death, he would always lecture young! robert about how reckless he was and how he needed to “grow up” in order to take over the company, etc. despite this, robert did take something from the inception: he’s not going to bring down his father’s empire, but he will most definitely reform it. maybe even cooperating or combining with saito.

as for dreams specifically, robert hasn’t dreamt of his dying father since inception. he would, however, have dreams of his younger years when his mother was still alive and everything was just as it should be. for these dreams, he would always wake up numb, but prepared to take on work that day. because in the end, even if his father was disappointed at him in death, he still built this empire for robert to thrive on — and that’s something robert hopes to continue building and remodelling for his own future children.
