☀️ — While I’m ranting - just like all his reactions to anything ever in the game, Byleth’s reaction to finding out his entire life was essentially MANUFACTURED to serve the whims of Rhea is ah...UNDERSTATED to say the least. “Oh, my chest was opened as a literal five minute old child and a Crest Stone was shoved in my heart so this lady could attempt to have my entire consiousness revoked so she could see her mother again? That’s fine I guess.”
No it is NOT fine like I don’t think I can articulate how ANGRY Byleth would be to hear this. Like - his mother was taken from him, so Rhea could have HER mother like how fucked up is that? Not only that, but Rhea literally supposedly attempted to do this to multiple other people and Byleth was simply the one successful subject, and in the Holy Tomb, she expected Byleth’s body to be fully consumed by the Goddess and was okay with that she was okay with essentially killing Byleth so she could talk to her mother again.
Like - it’d even but hard for him to fathom EVER forgiving her, no matter how kind she has been in the past. In the moment he might have even lunged at her, but in the long run? He wouldn’t wish her dead, but if she did die - he wouldn’t feel much remorse.
