heyyyy you guys should try Grimshire (if you're okay with playing early access games). it's a farming sim that innovates on the theme by proving real time why subsistence farming is something civilization desperately, desperately avoids at all cost, includes less twee farm mechanics such as butchery, aging, and death alongside the ranching system, actual tangible need for your produce, a research-based museum whose advancement correlates directly with what you're able to do on the farm, village-led survival initiatives (ie the player isn't the only person who's cares whether everyone lives or dies mechanically speaking, contributing to town projects, etc), and features a Secret of Nihm style animal cast (if the distinction between those furries and more anthro furries is important to you). Villagers can die if you do your job bad !! You get to pick and customize an animal to be !! Everything happens so much and so immediately I can describe nothing to you without spoilers !! It is $19.49 CAD and a TANTALIZINGLY small file size (it requires ONE (1) GIGBYTE as of March 2026 isn't that sexy).
