Food For Thought!
Speaking of which, I'm really hungry. and i probably won't be getting sleep cuz im going out for food after this post. xD
But the thing that has been on my mind is the term "Hypebeast"
Now this word has seen a new meaning through the years and i think now would be a good time to break it down (and to answer your question. Yes, 3AM is totally a good time to address my thoughts lol)
Let's just break down the OG vs Modern Definition for my sake. The OG hypebeasts in from my day fallowed the magazine Hypebeast just through personal interest and to their liking. It soon became a sterotype to call someone a "hypebeast" when they fallowed the trends from that specific time from the magazine. To put into perspective, these people were around at the birth of streetware culture and when the shoe game was fair (primarily the shoe market). Now in modern time, The term hypebeast is used almost explicitly to judge a person based on their outfit and persona. The typical hypebeast today will easily be offended when being called by such a name.
I bring this discussion up because people always defend me for being one vs. me not being one. Personally, depending on the time period I would consider myself one but in modern times, im not with the whole:
Rice Rocket "I watch top gear and play GT5" makes me a car enthusiast.
I have an instigram and give s/o for s/o (modern)
Tumblr Guy/Tumblr Girl (2008-2012ish)
I Have a DSLR and i leave it on auto but im a photographer.
^^Just isnt me.
Truthfully. I perfer to admit that i am a hypebeast from a different era. from when things were more like:
APC/Nudies/Naked and Famous Denim were trending
Undefeated/10Deep/SBs/and Streetware were exclusive
Raybans and MK products were classy
and when the north face was a brand for luggage and not everyday use.
yeah, those times. its just a thought. Honestly, it was just a outline i had in my head for a speech in my class that i ended up not using last minute. I just had to get the excess info out of my head.
