Girl group main vocal revealed on King of Mask Singer
On the most recent episode of King of Mask Singer, the identity of Doughnut was revealed to be Lucid’s main vocal and lead dancer, Juliet!
Juliet performed the song “Greatest Love of All”, originally by Whitney Houston, against her competitor for the first battle round, leading to praise from the judges and guesses that she was an older non-idol singer. Ultimately, she lost the audience vote by an narrow margin of 48-51 and revealed her identity to the audience performing her own rendition of “Sweet”. When asked about the rock-style music Lucid had released in the past, she also sang a brief snippet of “A Lucky Day” to show her versaility.
Juliet is currently promoting “Rough” with Lucid.

Lucid’s Juliet confirmed to star in upcoming musical production of “Bare The Musical”
Representatives for the upcoming Seoul production of the musical Bare have confirmed that Lucid’s Juliet has been cast as one of the actresses taking on one of the show’s lead roles and has recently begun rehearsals for the show. Juliet previously starred in the musical Dogfight earlier this year.
Bare The Musical is a show about two gay high school students, Peter and Jason, attending a private Catholic boarding school and it explores the struggles of the pair and their classmates throughout the school year. Juliet will play Ivy Robinson, a pretty and popular girl with hidden insecurity and an interest in Jason. The musical has been translated into Korean from its original English lyrics. Though the production shares the title with the 2012 Off-Broadway remake of the show, it is a translation of the original iteration, Bare: A Pop Opera, which premiered in Los Angeles in 2000.
The production will perform eight shows a week from January 3 to February 9 at the Baekham Art Hall in Gangnam. Juliet will play the role of Ivy four times a week.

[NEWS] Lucid’s Juliet cast in upcoming webdrama “Dating Class“
Lucid’s Juliet has recently been announced to be cast as a supporting role in the upcoming web drama Dating Class. She was previously rumored to be filming for a web drama at Myongji University, but now those reports have been confirmed. According to press releases, Dating Class is a campus romance drama telling the story of male and female students in a “necessary dating education” class and their different love lives. Juliet will be playing the role of Han Eunsol, one of the female leads who is described as a popular twenty year-old mechanical engineering major with overflowing aegyo and a cute look.
Juliet recently ended a run in the musical Dogfight, but this will be Juliet’s first on-camera role since Lucid made their debut in 2018.
Dating Class will be released online from September 27 to November 16 every Friday and Saturday on OllehTV Mobile, as well as tvN D STORY’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Since Lucid’s debut last year, the girl group has gained attention for their dual dark and innocent concepts. After showing the first of their power innocent concepts this year, Lucid’s star has begun to rise in the rookie girl group scene and members have begun to take their first individual activities. Main vocal Juliet first stood out after going viral for her own aegyo and has since sung an OST for Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo and made an appearance on Immortal Songs 2. Now she’s taking on her first musical role as Rose Fenny in Dogfight, which will be staged beginning today through August 25th. Exclusive got to have the first interview with Juliet about her debut stage acting role. Read what she had to say below!
Dogfight is your professional acting debut. How did you prepare?
“Before rehearsal began, I made sure to study up on the show and get myself in a positive mindset to approach rehearsals. I was promoting alongside Lucid for much of our rehearsal period for the show, so I worked on ways to separate my focus and did a lot of script studying backstage during music shows so that I wouldn’t be behind everyone next time we met for rehearsals. The other cast members helped a lot too!”
Why did you choose Dogfight as your acting debut?
“Dogfight wasn’t a show I was very familiar with before I heard about the auditions, but I fell in love with it throughout the audition process and getting cast. Rose is a character every girl can see some of herself in, but she’s still a believable character. That resonated with me. During discussions with the director, we talked about the changes Rose herself goes through on a personal level being a metaphor for changes in women in society, and that only solidified my confidence in taking on the role.”
How is acting in a musical different from your job as an idol singer? How have you adapted with that in mind?
“They’re very different experiences except for the obvious shared trait of singing both in a musical and while onstage as a singer. When I’m doing my part as Lucid’s Juliet, the focus is on delivering the song and choreography in the most enjoyable way for the audience watching. When I’m acting onstage, I have to focus more on the character and her motivations, and how to portray her self and story in the way I feel is most true to her."
Do you think you and your character share similar characteristics? Do you think this made it an easier or harder role for you to play?
“I think we do! We both have quieter personalities and love music, and she wants to see the best in people like I do, and I’m glad that the first role I got to take on was one I could immediately find common ground with. I did want to make sure there were differences, though, and that I was becoming her instead of making her become me. Our similarities did make it easier at first since it was easy to figure out her motivations and connect with her emotional journey throughout the musical.”
What is your favorite song to perform?
“’Pretty Funny’ is a song I love to perform. It closes the first act and there’s a lot of vulnerability I have to show, but throughout rehearsals, I came to really love “Before It’s Over”. It’s a big character moment for Rose and without that song, her whole journey would feel a lot cheaper. You can really see the change in Rose from “Pretty Funny” to “Before It’s Over” in a big way, and I tried hard to do well showing that.”
What type of roles would you like to explore in the future?
“I want to try a lot of different roles! I’m interested to try and tackle any role that is offered to me. Being able to play a really iconic role like Christine in The Phantom of the Opera would be a big dream come true.”
Why do you think people should come see Dogfight?
“It’s a really interesting show they might not be too familiar with! It explores socio-cultural issues from a different place and a different time, but they’re still issues that can resonate with a modern audience.”
Do you have any other comments you’d like to make to your fans?
“Thank you so much for always supporting me! I’ll work hard to be a better and brighter Juliet of which you can all be proud!”
On the most recent episode of Immortal Songs 2, Lucid’s main vocal Juliet made an appearance as a part of the performing guest artist lineup for the show’s celebration of the career of the late Shin Haechul. Juliet gave an emotional six minute performance of Shin Haechul’s song “When Our Lives Are Almost Over” for her stage.
Though she was not voted as the final winner, her rendition earned emotional reactions from the crowd and she was noted by the hosts for her singing skills as a rookie idol.
Juliet is currently promoting Lucid’s most recent comeback “Me Gustas Tu” with her group on music shows and gained attention over the last few months for her viral bite heart aegyo.

Lucid’s Juliet confirmed to star in upcoming musical production of “Dogfight”
Representatives for the upcoming Seoul production of the musical Dogfight have confirmed the casting of Lucid’s Juliet in the show. Juliet is one of two actresses cast to play the lead female role of Rose Fenny. The role is described as a shy and naive diner waitress who dreams of life as a musician.
Dogfight is based on the 1991 American film Dogfight which is set in the American 1960s and explores the relationship between an eighteen year-old Marine and a young woman. The musical is composed by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and has been translated into Korean from its original English book and lyrics. The musical originally premiered as an off-Broadway production in New York City in 2012.
Representatives confirmed Juliet has already been hard at work in rehearsal since the beginning of the month and that the production will perform eight shows a week from July 19 to August 25 at the Kwanglim Arts Center. Juliet will play the role four times a week.

Before the fourth episode of the currently airing KBS2 television drama The Producers airs this evening at 9:15PM, the show’s OST has been released on streaming platforms following the release of three preview OSTs over the last three episodes. The OST includes a track by Lucid’s main vocal, “Palpitations”, which is an upbeat confession song.
Juliet released her first OST, “Permeate”, earlier this year for Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo. She is currently playing Rose in the musical Dogfight.

Before the ninth episode of the currently airing MBC television drama Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo airs this evening at 10PM, part six of the show’s OST has been released on streaming platforms. The sixth part of the OST features the track “Permeate”, which is sung by Lucid’s main vocal, Juliet.
“Permeate” is Juliet’s first OST since Lucid’s debut early last year. The song is a cheerful and breezy tune with sweet and romantic lyrics connecting to the drama’s main romance line.
