Yuzu & Jace release collaborative mini-album Joker & Holly-Queen
7ROPHY’s Yuzu and CHARM’s Jace have released a collaborative mini-album today. Yuzu has recently gotten the chance to show fans more of her individualized music performance through a Dimensions Portal release “Liar” with her groupmate Yoojin, while this is Jace’s first time releasing music outside of his group. Both idols debuted in 2015 and released comebacks earlier this year: Yuzu with 7ROPHY’s Oh My God mini-album and “Uh Oh” digital single and Jace with CHARM’s Heng:garæ mini-album.
Joker & Holly-Queen begins with the radio sample and retro guitar of the track of the same name. The album draws its most prevalent genre influences from R&B, but delves into other sounds throughout, such as the Latin EDM of “Runaway” and the jazz of “Love”. Jace is credited as the lyricist and producer of four of the mini-album’s six tracks: “Joker & Holly-Queen”, “Starlight”, “Runaway”, and “Feel”.
“Starlight”, the single Yuzu and Jace will be promoting off of the mini-album, is described as a 90s retro pop and R&B track. Yuzu and Jace both act in the music video. “Starlight’” will be promoted on music shows through August 22 and b-side track “Runaway” will also be staged for the first week of promotions.
